  • Great car! Fun to drive! - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

I looked around all brand cars of same class before I found the Mazda 6 is the best of all. I already drove more than 3K miles in three weeks, so many funs and never have a problem. This is my first new car. I love it.

The Mazda6 is fun to drive. You may lose some tires because of the low clearance in some poorly maintained New York streets. The car does not like severe rain downpours either. I lost a fan blade that hit the radiator and pierced it during a rainstorm. The Mazda dealer said it was an "act of God." and the warrantee was not honored. I wrote mazda at no avail. Good car, poor service and a company that is not consumer oriented. I would not recommend it. A calm, careful driver.

  • Not a wagon for wimps - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

This is close to a sports car for young families or 4 adults. The Teutonic suspension is stiff, seats are hard, the ride is firm-to-harsh. The steering is precise, very sensitive to input, and has good road feel. A blast to corner, flat and adhesive. Acceleration spirited once the engine winds up. The auto/manual shifter is no substitute for the real thing: too much automatic (with various lags, limits, and early upshifts) and too little manual— encourages pussy-footing. Tunnel vision to the rear. Compared to other wagons this could be a 10 (7 for cargo space). Dont know yet if improves on mediocre reliability of previous 626 model.

I was in the market for an Altima or Accord Coupe. I was very interested in a sporty, reliable car. That is when I started to look at the Mazda 6s. I read as much as I could about it and the quality is excellent. The performance is equivalent to my old 99 Maxima 5-spd. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchse.

  • Fun, practical, could be more efficient - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

This car is fun to drive and the hatchback version is very practical. A few things could have been better, like auto window buttons but this is a fine car and has been very reliable. The average gas mileage is probably only 19 mpg so this is probably the biggest shortcoming I can find.

Im am a high school student who showed up a few months before graduation with a brand new mazda 6. What a mistake that was, I had to beat the people away from my car with a stick. This car was built for perfection and comes very closer and much closer than its competiors. I drove the Altima, Accord, and the Camry. The Altima was the only one from the bunch that was not as boring as the rest but it still also lacked something sportiness. Then came the Mazda 6 which hit on everything the other cars were doing and then kicked it up a not.

  • Lemon - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

I bought my fun to drive, eye appealing Mazda6 in early 2003,but Im very upset and disappointed with the mechanical build quality of my Mazda6. Ive owned this yellow "lemon" for 1 year and its been at the dealer several times. Let me enlighten everyone with a little history. Ive taken the lemon to the dealer on three diffrent occassions for coolant leaks (repairs made to diffrent areas in the cooling system), knock sensor (replaced) and not to mention the factory recalls within this past year.

  • sport without the price - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

I bought this vehicle two days ago. I have only put 80 miles on it. I took it to Snowbird (ski resort) yesterday and it was a blast. This car was priced below what I was loking at (2001 lexus is-300). The car was brand new with all options and had all of the features of the is plus more. From the driving I have done and what I have seen this car is one of the best deals for the price around. I dont know where else I could get a brand new four door sports car with leather, moonroof, 6 speaker bose stereo, 6 disc changer, 3.0 litre V6, 17 inch wheels and many others for 22,000! Oh yea....it also has another small feature...4 year 50,000 mile warranty.

  • Two weeks in a Mazda 6 - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

Rented a Mazda 6 for two weeks and traveled mountains and plains in Montana, Yellowstone and Idaho. The automatic with manual shift option came in handy in the mountains. As a four cylinder it strained a bit on steeper inclines, but otherwise buzzed along at 80 mph with ease on Interstates and 75 on ordinary roads. But the car is quiet and quick and well worth considering although less refined than my Accord.

Lots of features in an attractive package. Reliability unfortunately has declined just as Consumer Reports has indicated in the 6. Throttle problems and now a malfunction in the Bose stereo. A few rattles as well. My previous 90 MX-6 GT was a better car, actually the best car I ever owned. May trade it for a Toyota. I bought it due to the safety ratings.
