3 Recalls in 6 months. Automatic transmission hesitates to much.Snapping noise that comes from the driver side front door once in a while when I start to apply the brakes. Needs Alignment. Lousy and uncomfortable seats. What a mistake!!!!

This is the 8th Mazda Ive purchased, leased, or owned and is by far my favorite. This is the 4th Mazda sedan I have driven and I do not miss my old sports coupes one bit. My Mazda6 is the 4-cylinder i-model and the car is just as fun to drive as any of my 2door V6s. Now I see where the slogan comes from. I love that no matter what size or class, Mazda manages to keep the ZOOM-ZOOM in their vehicles!

Bought this car new for my wife in early 2004. We broke it in by driving it from Colorado Springs, CO to Anchorage, AK via Canada. It has never let us down, always been a great car

  • Hot hatch levels of performance in sedan - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

This car is amazing. Sure, some of the cars interior feels cheap, and the comfort levels could be better, but remember this car was cheaper than all its rivals, yet drove even better. Performance is fantastic from the 220 bhp 3.0 V6 engine, sometimes you dont realize exactly how fast youre going. A complaint would be that the manual mode is jerky and dim-witted, and doesnt auto blip on the down shifts. Both down shifts and up shifts arent instantaneous. Fuel economy is atrocious. Granted, I drive in a "spirited" manner, but i only average 17.4 mpg. I recommend the 4 cylinder model, that car weighs less, gets better mpg, and probably handles better. In short, its great, buy it.

I have had for more than a year and every morning I drive to work, I enjoy this car immensely...I have only had to have the rotors turned and my alignment may be a bit off (normal on a new car). Fun, fast, and handles awesome. Some Suburu came flying around me the other day going into an on ramp and i accelerated up to triple digits and it held the road just fine with three other passengers. Handling makes this a fun car to drive..also the smooth V6 is fun also.

  • Excellent ! - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

Excellent car. Good acceleration, smooth ride especially at highway speeds, great braking, feels very solid, nice interior. Tons of space with the hatch. Dont just get the ABS, get the ABS (Security)package and youll wind up with 8 air bags plus dual side and rear curtains.

  • 2004 6S - fun, but too many problems - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
    By -

Love the exterior of 6s and owned 3 other Mazdas. The 6S is less than expected Mazda quality -- less than 1 year/12kms; blinker connection loose, pulled transmission to replace defective clutch disc, replaced defective windshield, fluttler noise when heater turns on - dealer cant fix it, recall on leaky emission, wire falling in leather seats, engine valves noisey, dealer tightened left front noisy axle. Turning radius is WIDE, gas mileage is terrible, Stick is loud when shifting gears, good brakes, good sound system, fun to drive - good pickup and handling. Should provide option for leather package without seat warmers - not needed in south.

  • Ive loved it for the last 4 years. - 2004 Mazda Mazda6

Bought this car used in the summer of 09 with 129k on it. It now has 157k on it and I still love it. It has great handling and decent power for a 4 cylinder. These cars have a very good suspension IMO. It can handle tight turns at good speeds without offering too stiff of a ride. Mine has 17 inch tires, which probably makes a bit of a difference over the stock 16s. The interior is also well appointed and really comes alive at night with the interior lighting. If you like to play golf this car will also suit you well, there is easily enough room for 3 golf bags. The back seat can be a little tight though.

V6 is one of the smoothest engines. The manually tranny is a perfect match and the shifts are nice and short.
