Overview & Reviews
New hatchback and wagon body styles are scheduled as midyear additions. Minor adjustments to the 6's optional equipment packages are the only other changes for 2004.
- More fun to drive than most family sedans, slick shifting manual transmission, smooth power delivery, nicely appointed interior, multiple body styles.

So much fun, so little compromise - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By ambivalence - May 28 - 10:00 amI cant say enough how much I love this car! I know there are no perfect car for <$50k (or above?). But its amazing to me how little you give up for how much you get in this sexy 5-dr hatchback! I can go to a $50k budget and there isnt another car that can beat out this package in every major aspect. The holistic approach that Mazda took to driving pleasure really pays off (see below for highlights). Beneath the aggressive exterior is a car that blends in the handling (and good looks) of a sports coupe, the luxurious ride of a lexus and the utility of a compact suv. Simply unbelievable!

Zoom Zoom with room - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By midnightmike - April 1 - 12:53 pmI had previously owned a Chevy Avalanche for my dj business. Even though I loved my truck, I felt it was time to downsize. I saw the Mazda wagon at the Chicago Auto Show. My wife and I liked the car very much. The next day, we bought one. She had a 2001 Protege so I knew about Mazdas reliability. This car handles all of my equipment without a problem. This car can really move and handle like a race car. I just love driving it. The color is Steel Gun Grey and it is fully loaded. Everyone I run into thinks its a Dodge Magnum. The Dodge is too expensive and really isnt that much roomier than the 6. You really cannot beat the price of the 6 and everything you get for the money.

Sporty meets Practicality - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By StarCrab - March 8 - 2:00 amThe only thing that surpassed the exterior design was the handling and feel for the road while driving. You can literally be merging the freeway on a very curved onramp and floor it, and it grips the turn flawlessly. The center console is by far the coolest feature of the car. The automatic climate control is a little buggy; it always turns on the AC even to raise the temperature, and therefore is unsuccessful. The rpms really have to be 4,000+ in order to get the feeling like youre being thrown out of your seat, but it can be done. I should add that the car rides very well there and is perfectly happy being at 4,000 the entire trip.

nice car - 2004 Mazda Mazda6
By Dave - February 26 - 11:20 pmBought this car (2004 S sedan) as a demo, Got it for my wife. great car. have driven it 66,000 miles and have had 0 problems. It needed a new driver seat, but they replaced it under warranty. It still has the factory brakes on it. The interior is a little cramped for bigger folks.
