  • You cant go wrong with this car! FUN - 2005 Mazda Mazda6

I bought my car a couple weeks ago from the Toyota dealership I work for; it was a trade-in. As soon as i saw the car, i fell in love (Ive been a mazda fan my whole life). I used to have a 03 Protege5 5spd, which i think is the best car Mazda has made. This car gets the job done with a fun flare. With the ferrari red exterior, it certainly brakes necks. Its not the quickest but it is definatly fun to drive. Very comfortable and versitile, going to and from work and taking it out with your friends at night, its just a very fun drive. Definatly recomend it!

Great car all around. If you drove a coupe and you are hesitating to buy a 4 door because you dont want to look like you are driving Moms car then give this car a try. Great for young people and the young at heart. When you test drive the car you will fall in love!

I really enjoy driving this car. Its comfortable, roomy, smooth driving, and I love the gas mileage. I was going to buy an Altima or an Accord till I test drove my Mazda6; I really liked it so I bought it. I recommended it to a friend and she bought one too.

So far a great lil car, would recommend to new car buyers. Fun, comfortable, overall good design, better than other cars in the same class.

  • excellent car so far at 3000 miles - 2005 Mazda Mazda6

Sporty yet sophisticated enough for that 25-35 age range. Great interior room in front seat, back seat, and trunk (in the hatchback). Gas mileage is good, I get about 32 hwy and 25 city with the 5 speed 4 cylinder hatchback. Loaded with safety features (side curtains included). 4 year 50k warranty instead of normal 3 year 36K.

  • Performance for the money - 2005 Mazda Mazda6

The car has an athletic look, drives awesome, especially with the 5 speed manual. Handles quite well, and smooth and quiet on the highway. Quality is not quite there as with Honda or Toyota; thats because Ford is the parent company. I had a loose left side defroster vent, one of the badly designed wall nuts for the cargo net pulled through and broke off, cheap materials for headliner caused separation near where its supposed to be tucked in under front maplight housing. Havent figured how Im going to hide that yet. Headlight aim was off - just little things. All in one month, but I still love the car, I fixed all the things myself.

So far, so good. Car went back to the dealer for a steering pull. Theres a TSB about it, and it was corrected. No other problems. Its nice both inside and out.

Overall this car drives and handles very Honda like. Great fit and finish for a car in this class. The clutch is a little too grabby while shifting from 1st to 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear when car is cold. If not careful (under emergency acceleration), the clutch will give off a burning smell (probably needs to be made of a better/harder material). My local dealership has had a couple of complaints on this same issue. It just may be a Mazda thing. Other than that, wish it had at least 15 more horses, and more space for "do it yourselfers" to change the bulbs in the headlight assembly. After the warranty is over, no more free bulb replacements!

Just reached the 5000 mile mark and not one defect noticed. Car is very quiet even with 17 inch wheels and 50 series tires, Gas mileage last week on 500 mile trip with 4 adults, four sets of golf clubs and luggage that all fit in the trunk was 29 mpg U.S. gallon or 35 mpg. CDN Imperial gallon. Cruise was set at 70 mph, air on and strong headwind both ways on trip. The manual shift mode on the auto transmission is perfect for highway passing and great fun around town. My car has no rattles or squeaks and makes Camrys and Accords look boring. Handling is excellent.

When I was shopping for my last car, it came down to the 6 and the Pontiac G6. The G6 was a nice car, but the exterior looks and the availability of a manual transmission made the Mazda more appealing to me. The dealership I bought the car from had the worst customer service Ive ever experienced, but I love the car.
