Model Overview:

Mazda has a tradition of building entertaining small cars, and the Mazda 3 fits right in with its sharp handling and engaging nature. But it's also a practical, affordable runabout that's available as either a sedan or a handy four-door hatchback. A Mazda 3 of any vintage is worth consideration, but the 3's interior quality has improved dramatically over time. Likewise, fuel economy has emerged as a real strength in recent years.

Introduced in 2004, the Mazda 3 has always been one of those cars that feels a little bit special when you get behind the wheel. Some shoppers might find the ride too firm, but if you like to drive, you'll probably take a shine to this compact Mazda. Passenger room is the same in the sedan and hatchback, but the latter offers more cargo room. If fuel economy is a priority, note that 2012 and later models benefit from updated engine technology that helps the car return significantly better mileage.

  • Very Impressive!!! - 2004 Mazda Mazda3

I bought the titanium grey with the ABS brakes and xenon light options. So far my wife and I absolutely love it. It has a very sporty look to it and I get alot of "it looks like a mini Lexus or a Infinity FX". The ride is awesome with ample power and the interior has a nice feel and look to it. The 17" stock rims are definetly a plus! If you are in the market for a small sedan, you should check this vehicle out. You will be impressed.

  • Best car for the money! - 2004 Mazda Mazda3

Hey. I just got the new Mazda 3 s 2 days ago, and let me tell you, I love it. My purchase price was around $21,000 because I got it with the Xenon Lights and the 6-disk in dash with the sunroof. You would be amazed on how much better your night time driving is with those xenon lights. The car looks like a 30K+ car for around the 20K mark, I really dont think you can go wrong. The performance is excellent. I was very surprised when I drove one because I was expecting much less from a 4-cyl. Bottom line is: "If your thinking about getting the new 3, go test drive one and that will make up your mind really quick."

I had a Mazda Protege in 2000, a Protege 5 in 2002, now I just changed for this new Mazda 3.... there is nothing like it... not the same car at all... it has a lot of horse power and feel like a Mazda 6 to drive. go for it!!!

  • New Protege...No Way! - 2004 Mazda Mazda3

I just picked up my new 3 (hatchback), and there is no comparing this car and the car it replaced, the long-lived Protege. Everything about this car is great! The styling, the interior, and all of the standard features! I traded in my 2002 PR5 without a second thought. After one test drive I had already made up my mind! The car is so great in the styling department...Its almost like BMW and a Benz got together and produced the new Mazda 3. Excellent build quality and materials. To drive it, is to love it!

It is 2004 and would it be too much to ask for a compact that doesnt wimp out. Finally it was Mazda that delivered. I just got the Mazda 3s hatchback in Velocity Red with Black-Red Cloth interior, Auto, ABS/SBS, Moonroof/6-CD package. All for $500 over invoice. I bought it primarily as a commute car for myself and my little daughter. She absolutely loves it too. I suggest this as a great little runabout around town in style and comfort without looking/feeling like a harrier mom.

The car is a blast to drive. The 2.0 has plenty of power, and gets great mpg (over 30). The manumatic is a fun feature, controls for stereo and cruse are located in perfect place on steering wheel. To me and everyone I have talked to it is the nicest looking car in its class, and is on par with much more expensive cars like Jetta and Altima (if not better). It drives like a sports car, the engine sound is clean during acceleration and almost silent when cruising. It has a massive trunk for a small car. The car looks bigger than it is, and I am 62 and I find the front spacious and the back tolerable but tight. Interior lights are red and dash has cool blue shine. Did I mention PZEV engine?

My Mazda3 wagon has completely met all my expectations in terms of driving enjoyment, sporty feel, and style. Everyone who has taken a ride in my car has nothing but praise for the design and performance, as theyre usually surprised to encounter such a satisfying experience in a compact vehicle. The Mazda3 corners better than any other car in its class, always maintaining the drivers intended line no matter the sharpness of the turn.

  • Fun to Drive and few faults - 2010 Mazda Mazda3

After driving and owning Vipers and Corvettes I found this little car a blast to drive. Got the 2.5 Sport Touring. Build quality is better than the hand built Viper and you do get used to the smiley face look in a few weeks, great first car for my lucky kid to take to college.

The 2008 Mazda3 is a typical 4-door sedan with an atypical drivetrain. From the line, the car gets decent acceleration, easily capable of bypassing the ridiculous Atlanta drivers (regardless of type of car) from a dead stop. Handling is great, with a fantastic turning radius and the great ability to carve corners at speed. Interior design is nice, the sound system is very good, and there isnt enough road noise to be distracting from a conversation, even on the highway. The only real gripe I have is fuel economy, but I knew this before I chose to purchase the car. As a 23-year-old professional, this car suits my needs without being flashy or expensive.
