Mazda # - a winner - 2004 Mazda Mazda3
By Pres - December 25 - 10:00 amTest drove lots of other cars, Ion Red-line, Scion TC, Nissan SER Spec V, honda Civic, Toyota Corolla XRS, Neon. Final decision came down to the Scion and the Mazda 3. Opted for the 3S because the Scion TC felt to sedate and heavy. The 3S is like a big cat, light on its feet, flat in the turns, responsive at the wink of an eye. The interior fit and finish is superb, and the seats are a nice turn for an econocar-they are actually firmly supportive. The seating allows crank up or down, and the wheel repositioning is all needed to find a great driving position, oh yeah lumar suppport too. Mine has 5 speed, zenon lights,changer, TPMS, moonroof, and ABS and side airbags.

By Joseph8 - November 23 - 2:00 amI purchased the 4 door sedan fully loaded and am very pleased with it so far. The car rides smooth and handles great. The engine is very quite and has impressive power. A nice balance between performance, style, safety and comfort. Going 75 MPH on the highway feels like your doing 40 MPH with a smooth quite ride that makes you feel safe.

By mack13 - November 13 - 10:00 amAfter being greatly disappointed by the Matrix XR, my wife and I went to try the next car on our list, the 3s Hatchback. No comparison. The 3s blows away the Matrix on HP and standard equipment. We got the Titanium Gray color with 4 speed auto. The dealer had a labor day sale going on, and we got it for $17,109. I love the getup and go this car has, and the tranny shifts smoothly. It reminds me of the 1989 Honda Civic si that I had because it is just fun to drive. The controls were hard to get used to, but, are very easy to use after a little bit of practice. I had a 1975 Mazda GLC, and got about 240K out of it. I have nothing bad to say about this car at all.

Got Problems? - 2004 Mazda Mazda3
By doesntmatterdoesit? - October 27 - 11:50 amIve had the car for close to a year now. Yesterday was my 5th or 6th check engine light. If it is anything like the others it will be a problem with the evap system. The gas mileage isnt as good as I had expected. I am averaging 23mpg and on a good tank 25mpg. These issues have been disappointing. That being said, I really like this car. It is fun to drive. In the first few months I would volunteer to go to the store for my wife. We have even had races to get into the drivers seat first. The red sparkles at the right angle. It has muscular contours, very attractive. I have looked at "luxury" cars and dont feel like I am missing anything, especially my money. This car wants to be driven.

By Rob B. - October 7 - 10:00 amIve had mine since May 14 and it never ceases to impress me. The Mazda rips through curves like a sport sedan and gets plenty of power from the 2.0 liter enginge regardless of transmission. The automatic shifts quickly but I mostly use the manual mode for better fuel economy. Some will find the ride too firm but I prefer to feel the road. Fit and finish is excellent and the controls are very well designed. Speed sensing steering is standard (gets firmer as you go faster. The ABS/side air bags/side air curtains package is a step above the norm for this class and is packaged with things most drivers want anyways (requires air conditioning and power switches).

My father purchased it for me directly from the showroom. We drove off the dealership feeling really good. That day we got at least 4 honks and countless amounts of stares. And all my friends want to drive my car.
