Overview & Reviews
Mazda has a tradition of building entertaining small cars, and the Mazda 3 fits right in with its sharp handling and engaging nature. But it's also a practical, affordable runabout that's available as either a sedan or a handy four-door hatchback. A Mazda 3 of any vintage is worth consideration, but the 3's interior quality has improved dramatically over time. Likewise, fuel economy has emerged as a real strength in recent years.
Introduced in 2004, the Mazda 3 has always been one of those cars that feels a little bit special when you get behind the wheel. Some shoppers might find the ride too firm, but if you like to drive, you'll probably take a shine to this compact Mazda. Passenger room is the same in the sedan and hatchback, but the latter offers more cargo room. If fuel economy is a priority, note that 2012 and later models benefit from updated engine technology that helps the car return significantly better mileage.

Zoom zoom - 2008 Mazda Mazda3
By rob - February 16 - 12:20 amI just got home from the dealership, I really love this car. Its got a sweet interior. I test drove an 07 Civic LX sedan and this had more power, not much by horsepower, but I think the Mazda3 is also lighter, so it has a higher power to weight ratio. Really like the 16" rims and 4 wheel disk brakes. Real fun to drive.

Disappointed now.... - 2014 Mazda Mazda3
By wesp1 - February 15 - 12:44 pmI love this car until the transmission went out at 2800 miles. Now back in the shop for a seal leak at 8000 miles. Maybe I just got a bad one but Im not happy with it so far. Never had a problem with my GMC Terrain or any of my 4 Honda Civics. I bought this Mazda because of the excellent reviews.

Peppy Little Car - 2007 Mazda Mazda3
By DBryant - February 14 - 5:50 amAlthough I am used to V8 power, this car has enough power for most conditions. You have to give up something for twice the gas mileage. Handling and ride are impressive for a compact car. I drove a Mazda6 for a few days, and I would rather have the 3.

Civic Who? - 2009 Mazda Mazda3
By Phillie86 - February 9 - 9:56 amHonestly, best looking interior car in its class - Civic has nothing on this. Exterior is very stylish. 2.3 could do better on fuel economy, but its still much better than a 6 cylinder. This the best car for bang-for-your-buck. You get so much - safety options, toys and gadgets and styling all in a very reliable lil car.

Love it! - 2005 Mazda Mazda3
By Kristin - February 6 - 2:30 amI absolutely love my Mazda 3! My dad leased mine for me while working at Ford and I loved it so much that once he had to turn it in I decided to buy it as my first car! Its so much fun to drive and while it is a compact car its much roomier than most. I also love how its a lot sportier than the Focus i used to drive. I dont think you can get a better car for the price!

Great Feel, Fun to Drive - minor nuances - 2010 Mazda Mazda3
By bd - February 5 - 5:10 amHave the car 2 weeks...3i-Touring with sunroof and Bose stereo. Sunroof was a must...too much AC at work. Starting to enjoy stereo. Enjoying use of trans manual mode...merging at on-ramps, especially clover leafs. One real tank of gas_30.9 mpg mostly hwy at 75. Car is fun to drive...as much as work commute allows. Driven on local curvy, country roads, handling was great and took turns well... ZoomZoom is a good description. Purchased because of fun styling and driving...compared with 9 other vehicles (compact and midsize)...replaced a 7-yr old, 6cyl GM. MPG may not match hybrid, diesel or Civic/Corolla...but FUN to drive!! "Punch down" acceleration not my old 6cyl...but knew it going in.

Great little sports sedan - 2004 Mazda Mazda3
By M3Believer - February 2 - 2:00 amIve always been a muscle car and truck guy but after living in England for 4 years I learned to appreciate other kinds of vehicle. And the Mazda3 is one. Its fun, comfortable, quick, and feels more expensive than it is. The engine pulls hard for a 4 banger and is smooth as butter up to the redline. The 5spd has a short throw and you never have a problem finding the right gear. Seats are firm, yet supportive and the dash is beautiful. The best out there in its class. And I know, Ive driven them all. Love this car. But remember kids, just say NO to autos. This is a drivers car. Cant wait for aftermarket.

nice car - 2004 Mazda Mazda3
By silverwilson - February 2 - 2:00 amThe Mazda 3 is a very comfortable, exciting car. This car is a step ahead in design and offers the quiet smooth ride, usually found in more expensive luxury cars. The buying experience was smooth. I recommend getting several quotes and having the deal nearly done online. Then go into the dealership and sign the paperwork.

Most fun and utility for the money! - 2009 Mazda Mazda3
By Cenbit - January 31 - 5:33 amThis is really a good car compared with my sisters 08 VW rabbit sedan. The fuel economy is very different. In the city I average 23 mpg, and highway 32 mpg. Its much better than VW.
