5 door hatchback-slick 5 speed, nice interior design-firm but comfortable seats, very enjoyable to drive-handles well on the highway, great on winding roads-good acceleration 160 hp perfect for a car this size. Its just fun to drive. Looked at the Vibe and Subaru Forester. The Vibe was a close runner- up because it is more versatile. The 3 is better contstructed with better handling and driving features.

This car floored me when I first learned about it at the dealership. I was actually looking at the RX8, but at 62", was too tall for the RX8. The 6 is nice, but this car is more nimble, fun to drive, and allows you to spend your extra money saved elsewhere!

I just purchased my car this week so this may be premature but I love my Mazda 3. I had test driven a Honda Civic EX and the difference in comfort and features for the same price was unbelievable.

The Mazda3 is an awesome car. They look very aggresive and even have a little growl from the factory. I rate the safety very well since I wrecked mine doing rolls at 75+mph. My friend and I were okay and walked about 5 miles to my friends house for the night. I had a sore shoulder for about 2 months after but by judging by the car its a miracle we made it out alive. Its a clean, and stylish car with good performance and mileage all in one. I wouls recommend this to tuners, youngerr crowd, and parents with no more than 2 kids. The trunk is BIG so I cant figure why the back seat is small.

  • A car worth considering! - 2004 Mazda Mazda3

Ive owned my Mazda3 for almost 2 months now and its been an absolute joy to own. The handling combined with heavy steering, and an excellent gearbox make this car very fun to drive. The quality of the fit and finish along with the layout of the interior is much better than I would have expected from a car in this price range. As other people have commented, the interior has a VW type quality. My previous car was a 1996 VW GTI VR6, and the Mazda3 is more fun to drive, more reliable (Im expecting) and gets almost 30% better gas mileage. If you are considering a car in this category, I would highly recommend taking a look at the Mazda3.

  • Fun, stylish, affordable economy sedan - 2004 Mazda Mazda3

The Mazda 3s is an extraordinary economy sedan. It blows its competition away in terms of styling and performance. The 2.3L 160hp engine is spunky and fun, the suspension is stiff and sporty and the styling is incredible. Its my first 5-speed tranny, so I cant comment on the gearboxs performance relative to other vehicles - but so far, Im having a great time zipping around town. To those Ive shown off the vehicle to, their first comment often implies I must have paid an arm and leg for the 3s. They are in total disbelief when I tell them I paid less than a Corolla S.
