Model Overview:

Mazda has a tradition of building entertaining small cars, and the Mazda 3 fits right in with its sharp handling and engaging nature. But it's also a practical, affordable runabout that's available as either a sedan or a handy four-door hatchback. A Mazda 3 of any vintage is worth consideration, but the 3's interior quality has improved dramatically over time. Likewise, fuel economy has emerged as a real strength in recent years.

Introduced in 2004, the Mazda 3 has always been one of those cars that feels a little bit special when you get behind the wheel. Some shoppers might find the ride too firm, but if you like to drive, you'll probably take a shine to this compact Mazda. Passenger room is the same in the sedan and hatchback, but the latter offers more cargo room. If fuel economy is a priority, note that 2012 and later models benefit from updated engine technology that helps the car return significantly better mileage.

  • Great Little Car - 2010 Mazda Mazda3

Replaced a 95 Aerostar (my third) using CARS program. Have a 50 mile RT commute so 17 mpg to 34mpg was impressive. Drives like a Mazda ! I have a 90 Miata and have owned two other Mazdas over the years. Comfortable, tight and responsive. Had to search for a Crystal white with the Dune interior. I dont understand the black interiors that seem to be the norm in small cars. I live in a HOT summer area so every little bit helps. The back seat space is not an issue- if I need to carry more people I use my wifes 07 CRV. The build quality is every bit as good as our Honda and the fun factor far exceeds that of a previous Corolla. Its a great commuter at thousands less than its Japanese competitors

  • BEST CAR EVER!! - 2014 Mazda Mazda3

I went from a BMW 325i to this and do not miss it at all. It turns with no effort and no body roll even taking a turn at 40 mph! I drive about 30 miles a day and I average 32 mpg having a mixed road type (7 miles city, 23 highway) and it takes me about 2 weeks to get to empty. Ever since I got it, I have never spent more than $35 to fill it up on regular where as the BMW cost about $70-$80 on premium. The infotainment does get a little used to but its mostly simple. I have the feature where it can read my text messages while Im driving (Doesnt show you the actual message for safety reasons) and it works fine with an iPhone 5c.

The Mazda3, with its sleek exterior design, and its luxurious interior design make this car worth buying. The exterior design is both fun and mature, appealing to young and mature adults. Handling busy New York City traffic, with the automobiles abrupt stops, and their many attempts to cut in front, is so much less stressful with a Mazda 3. The car becomes an extension of your arms and legs. The anti-lock brake system has helped me avoid many accidents because of its amazing ability to stop you right on time. The acceleration and easy steering work together to help maneuver your car in and out of thick traffic. You will never be late for work again. It has helped me in and out of NYC!

I love this car! It is very responsive and handles beautifully. The fit and finish is impeccable. There is no competition when it comes to styling. It is best looking compact car around.

  • Perfect Car - 2004 Mazda Mazda3

Ive been looking for a car for almost a year now. I just purchased the 2004 Mazda 3 s with the Automatic transmission. Its about time a manufacturer built a car under 20k that has a ton of features. It drives like sports car, very stiff suspension and steering. Ive been getting around 28 mpg fuel economy which is great since gas prices are so high now. It turns heads every where I go. I really like the style. The stereo system rivals mosts peoples home theatres, and the in dash 6 disc changer is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

  • An amazing car at an amazing price - 2009 Mazda Mazda3

The 09 Mazda3 Hatchback is a blast to drive. Its quick and gets pretty good gas mileage. I had a VW Rabbit. I am sure Mazda3 is much better, with an easier 5-speed shiftable automatic transmission to work with. This car begs to go fast.

  • Car lighter fuse blow out - 2005 Mazda Mazda3

I bought my new Mazda 3s on Friday and by Sunday I had no turn lights, power locks, stereo console lights, tachometer lights, working keyless entry, rear defrost or A/C, and it said my parking brakes were on even though it was disengaged. The service man said "Dont go blaming the car now, this is a common problem if you plug in an ac adapter into a Pontiac, Subaru, GMC car...." All this because I used a car charger to charge my phone?!

  • Our Mazda 3s experience - 2007 Mazda Mazda3

Have only positive things to say about our 2007 Mazda 3s. Knock on wood, we have not had any major issues, once standard scheduled maintenance. Perfect for hauling all the kiddos gear around with us. For the low price point I think we got good value.
