Overview & Reviews
Mazda adds power to the MPV in the form of a 200-horsepower V6 engine governed by a five-speed automatic transmission, which is just what the doctor ordered for this previously underpowered minivan. The MPV also gains power-sliding doors, available 17-inch alloy wheels, traction control, an improved braking system and revised suspension tuning.
- Compact and maneuverable, confident handling manners, roll-down windows in sliding doors.
- Limited maximum cargo capacity, lacks some features found in the other minivans.

Bets minivan for small family. - 2002 Mazda MPV
By ska - April 14 - 10:00 amRecently we were belssed with a daughter and I had to change my coupe to some bigger vehicle. I tried lots of SUV/minivans and at last narrowed down to Odyssey, Pilot, MDX and MPV. First we thought that we will settle for SUV (looks good from outside), but once inside, we loved the interior of minivans (Odyssey EX-L and MPV ES), space was much better used and we have lots of flexibility in seating. Anyway now it was Odyssey and MPV. Both were nice, but we decided for MPV based on: Perfect size for us. Exterior is much micer looking. Interior is comparable to Odyssey. Driving/handling was comparable to Odyssey. AND we got it $7000 cheaper than Odyssey.

excelllent but hopeful - 2002 Mazda MPV
By MainelyMazda - December 14 - 2:00 amThis has been a GREAT vehicle so far. We love the versatility of a minivan that drives like a car. With two kids starting sports, we needed more room than our wagon could offer.

Love our MPV - 2002 Mazda MPV
By whatever 2549 - November 14 - 10:00 amWe bought this vehicle due to its smaller size than the other mini- vans. Seating 6 comfortably with a fold down 3rd row seat served our family of 4 perfectly. The V6 motor is peppy and doesnt get bogged down under heavy loads. Drives great in the city and highway. I can sit in the seats for extended hours with no pain from my arthritic back. Weve had no problems with the vehicle since we drove it off the lot.

Ill miss my MPV - 2002 Mazda MPV
By Monique68 - September 14 - 2:00 amMy MPV was a great van. Alas, I have decided to trade it in for a Mazda Tribute. But, for the two years I had the MPV, it was great. I only decided to trade it in to get lower monthly payments. I knew sticking to a Mazda would be a good deal.

Sportscar of Minivans - 2002 Mazda MPV
By Eileen Gallagher - September 5 - 9:20 pmHave been driving this great little minivan for the last 2.5 yrs. Excellent for kids, roadtrips, hauling stuff. Drives beautifully: smooth, good pick-up (even on steep mountain passes), nice ride, and really can corner on those curves. Plenty of room for 64" son and many more. Very dependable mechanically, no big repair disasters like other vehicles I have owned. Probably the nicest car Ive ever had.

Great Minivan - 2002 Mazda MPV
By gem76_girl - August 7 - 10:00 amThis mini van a great mini van with a good price. Our first choice was the over priced Honda Odyssey. After reviewing all of the mini vans on the market we came across the MPV. I believe it is the most comparable to the Honda Odyssey with a better price.

MPV - 2002 Mazda MPV
By Toomach - July 22 - 10:00 amThe MPV is a fun car with reasonable performance, acceptable gas mileage, plenty of stowage space, handles better than many cars and has good safety. Most of the benefits of an SUV without most of the drawbacks. We bought it to travel in. The car comfort with plenty of room makes it ideal for us.

The Best Choice - 2002 Mazda MPV
By Zoom -Zoom in NJ - July 19 - 2:00 amThis is our first minivan...and we are completely satisfied. Honda wasnt willing to negotiate an inch- and Sienna was too big with DULL exterior styling. We have an infant and a toddler so we werent ready for the huge mom-mobiles! We got an excellent dealer incentive- and great treatment. Drives and handles like a car. My son loves his "new big car"! We take turns driving. By far this was the best choice. GFX, Luxury, Entertainment, Security packages.
