Overview & Reviews
For 2003, power sliding doors are an option for both the LX and ES trim levels. A towing package and a cargo organizer are two other new options. Also, an alarm and engine immobilizer are now part of a security package, and a cassette player is available on the ES trim level. The LX trim now rides on 16-inch wheels. Inside, floor and cargo mats are now standard on both trim levels, while outside, you'll see a new exhaust tip.
- Compact and maneuverable, confident handling manners, roll-down windows in the sliding doors.
- Limited maximum cargo capacity, lacks some features found in the other minivans.

Nice Packaging - 2003 Mazda MPV
By Dave L - May 24 - 10:00 amWe purchased 4 weeks ago and simply love it. My Co. car is a Winstar and there is simply no comparison. Our previous used Grnd Caravan was a money pit. We love the ext. styling and the way the interor is packaged together is superb. After looking at the length & width of the van, we almost didnt even consider it. Im glad we didnt make that mistake. After the test drive, I was sold. Check it out. This one is not a drive by.

Honest review by a happy owner. - 2003 Mazda MPV
By Shlep - May 4 - 10:00 amBetween me and my wife we have to fight who gets it to go to work. New V6 engine great 200 hp. all I need it has plenty of power for city or highway for any normal family. The size is perfect for 7 passengers normally we have 3 or 4 but we have had seven once . So if you need to always move a ton of people or 50 sheets or dry wall buy a larger van you will be happier. We liked the MPV Mazda features like the power rear windows and the fold down rear seat, and the modern looks. My wife has a two year old Protoge and has been perfect so far.

not to big, not to small, but just right - 2003 Mazda MPV
By BeenThereDoneThat - April 17 - 10:00 amMy wife and I drove them all including the new 04 Toyota Sienna which was just a bore to drive. The Mazda was a hands down winner in handling and performance. It gives up some size to the others but it is big enough to fulfill my familys needs. My wife loved it and it handled just was well as my Altima. I wanted to hold off a purchase until I could see the New Quest but it is a new platform being built at a new factory which spells out reliability issues for the first few months and was reluctant to test those waters. I highly recommend that you test drive the Mazda if you are in the market for a van!

not your moms van - 2003 Mazda MPV
By mommy2 - April 5 - 10:00 amWe just purchased our MPV two days ago. One reason why we chose this vehicle is because of all the other reviews. We are very pleased with it. It is a really nice looking van. (not grandmaish). The only drawback is that the stereo controls are behind the gearshift when in drive. The price is unbelievable when compared to the Sienna or Odyssey.

Most uncomfortable Vehicle - 2003 Mazda MPV
By hermandvm - January 16 - 10:00 amA nice van overall but so uncomfortable I drive it only when I am forced to. The padding on the drivers seat is very firm on the side bolsters and digs into your thighs. It is impossible to get comfortable. The steering wheel also seems to be off center making it even more difficult to get comfortable. On a short drive it is responsive and fun to drive but dont be fooled. The interior is also too small. My kid who are in their early teens and pre teens complained about the tight quarters and uncomfortable seats as much as I did. The power doors are also painfully slow.
