Overview & Reviews
The MPV gets a facelift for 2004 that includes a new hood, headlamps, front fenders, grille, side skirts and alloy wheels. A rear air conditioner and four-wheel disc brakes are now standard.
- Compact and maneuverable, confident road manners, roll-down windows in the sliding doors.
- Lacks the passenger/cargo space and power found in competitors.

2004LX - 2004 Mazda MPV
By kolt1 - May 6 - 10:00 amThe MPV is a true mini-van. I was considering buying a sedan, but this van drives/rides like a sedan...and when compared to a sedan, it has tons of cargo space. It gives you the best of both worlds. I cant say enough about the versatility of this vehicle. Anyone who is considering purchasing a mini-van should definitely test drive this one.

Mazda fun - 2004 Mazda MPV
By engtech - March 6 - 2:00 amI bought the MPV bucause it was the best value of all others in the class. Love the extras. Good ride and power. I have had a Mazda for 12 years and have had good luck with them all the way. It is nice to see a Japanese car without the high price.

Reliable, good value, fun, but smallish - 2004 Mazda MPV
By Bartman - February 20 - 6:20 pmReplacing 8-yr old Grand Caravan. After months of research, considered and compared Sienna & MPV as two most reliable alternatives. Didnt consider Odyssey - too many transmission failures (although some MPV owners had transmission shift-shock issue; now resolved with updated transmission software flash). I preferred larger size of Sienna; even bigger than Grand Caravan. But price was definitely an issue and wife preferred smaller size, maneuverability, handling, and looks of MPV. For less money, MPV ES also has more standard features than Sienna LE: leather, 6-disc in-dash CD changer, 2 power sliding doors, and alloys. If you have a smaller family and smaller size is OK, then recommend MPV.

Great, but need some help - 2004 Mazda MPV
By Sm00ve - January 1 - 2:06 pmMy van is my baby (I loves my dog [Wuff]). The biggest problem I have is that I cant find a maintenance manual for the body. Shes at 100K miles, but I cant change the rear brakes because I cant adjust them out far enough to accommodate new shoes (theyre pretty tricky for rear disc brakes). Other than that, shes great. I even figured out how to change the spark plugs without having to drop the main harness or the engine (not the easiest thing to do, but its doable).
