Love my Mazda - 1998 Mazda 626
By Boo - January 12 - 7:23 amMy mazda drives like a dream. I have a 97 automatic and should have blown up by now and OD out but wont quit . My 98 manual drives like a dream, interior is grey and sharp. It is a comfortable ride and with regular tune up gas mileage is still good. Love to just go for a ride or drive on pretty days.

AWESOME CAR - 1998 Mazda 626
By theyrmom - October 12 - 3:44 pmI bought this car new at the end of 1997 and I have almost 130,000 miles on it. I have the services done and the oil changed - thats it. I have had no major problems with this jewel. I have the automatic transmission, so I dont understand those who have had problems. Are they having their car serviced and oil changed? Anyway, I finally had to get a new battery after 8 years and the guy at my local service center was amazed that it was the original battery. I have had to finally get new tires. This is just a great car, I think I will keep it until it stops and it is not showing any signs of that anytime soon. It still drives like a new car. WOW!

Best in price range - 2000 Mazda 626
By SuperRevs - August 24 - 10:00 amI have my car for a 1.5 years and have had no problems. I had to replace freon which kind of annoyed me cause I really think the car came with it low. Car handles well, looks great and the V6 model is plenty fast. I do not like the downshift feature of the automatic sometimes it is a little rough. I have not noticed the engine noise like so many posting, but I play my music loud. I definately recommend this car over Camry and Honda. I am a previous Camry owner and this handles much better.

Japanise Version of 626 (NOT USA) - 2002 Mazda 626
By Marce002 - August 5 - 2:00 amGREAT CAR very pleasant to drive and mantain. Good price and performance. The trans. problems I read about , seems to be for those USA MADE cars. I have tested 2 626 japanese version (for other countries) GB2D 2.0 AT - GE10S1 for 200.000 kms in one car an 70.000 km in another, and the transmission never caused a single problem. MAYBE FORD TRANSMISSION IS THE PROBLEM and only for the USA 626 models.

Most Bang for the buck! - 1998 Mazda 626
By outbreak - July 1 - 10:00 amIve had this car for 4 yrs now and I can tell anyone whos looking for a new or used car that it is extremely reliable. Ive done my oil changes every 6000 - 7000 miles and the car has always run flawlessly. The car is very clean and basic, not too much junk that will break that many cars tend to have. The interior ergonomics are perfect.

By fastmov4 - January 17 - 10:00 amI bought my 626 4-cyl auto. a year old and 14K on the odometer. It has been a great car! This is a superb highway car and handled an Ohio winter on all- season radials with no problems. The steering feel on this car is simply outstanding. You just point the car where you want to go and it goes! Overall, I would buy this car again in a heartbeat!

Good Family Car - 2001 Mazda 626
By Mike - July 27 - 11:23 pmIve been fortunate enough not to have the various problems listed by other owners on this site. Any car (even the allegedly bulletproof Camrys and Accords) can have issues. My 626 is reliable, handles well, and has been a good car for the money. I would seriously consider another Mazda product in the future. It has all of the features of the competition for less. Plus, you dont see one at every stop light (such as the aforementioned Camrys and Accords). I cant vouch for everyone that left the plant, but mine has been great.
