Best one yet - 1999 Mazda 626
By Rachel - April 18 - 8:06 amBought new and have no regrets. I have the car maintained regularly and it is garage kept. It has not broken down on me yet and the repairs have really only been maintainance items. Best car I have ever owned in terms of reliability.

Great car! - 1998 Mazda 626
By caroline - April 12 - 5:16 amWe bought this car when we found out we were expecting. It has been great for 10 years 168,000 (we used it like a second home & drove it constantly) no problems or repairs. Shes just now starting to show her age & will be replaced in the spring. Wonderful car for $19k and 10 years w/out a dime in repairs just tires, and general maintenance oil, spark plugs, etc. If you find a low miles used one, buy it! We have a new tribute and its not near as good. Lots of issues already.

Great car - 1998 Mazda 626
By MrNutty37 - April 5 - 10:53 amI purchased the car new in 1998, have driven it 115,000 miles, and had very few problems. Left front axle has cracked twice, and the coolant reservoir has been replaced twice. Other than that, almost nothing other than regular wear and tear. The 5 speed is very smooth, and the engine has great power, especially above 3000 rpm. Fuel economy has gone a little downhill recently, but it is a high mileage car. Overall very pleased, and cant wait for the MazdaSpeed 6 to come out next year. Would definitely buy another Mazda.

V6 Rulez - 2002 Mazda 626
By vas - March 25 - 10:00 amHave 2002 626 LX V6 for about a year. Exterior look is very stylish, easy to recognize. Acceleration and handling are great, no need to slow down on highway turns. 626 V6 version has Japanese transmission, so go for it if you are afraid of Ford tranny. No mechanical problems so far (closing to 10K on it). The cost is 5-6 grand less than 6-liter Camry or Accord. Easy choice!

A very good car - 2000 Mazda 626
By x - March 13 - 10:06 pmWe purchased this vehicle new and we have been very happy with it. It has never broken down. We have had very few repair issues, in fact the front brakes are still going strong after 106K miles. This has been a very good car for us. The v6 provides good pick-up and high cruising ability. It has a manual transmission and we have had no transmission or clutch problems.

626 - Everything but the transmission - 2000 Mazda 626
By JohannDS - March 11 - 10:00 amThe 626 has decent handling and good road feel for a midsize. Steering is crisp and braking excellent. The six cylinder is not exactly powerful, but adequate for passing trucks at highway speeds without shifting out of overdrive. You can get onto the highway and up to traffic speed safely. The transmission, however, is truly diappointing. It shifts rough through every gear, and the shift from first to second in stop-and-go traffic is jarring. Its been back to the shop 8 times for this, but I was told it was operating within specs! Worst shifting car I have ever driven. Because of this, I wont buy another one.
