Overview & Reviews
The Lexus RX 350 is a vehicle that's comfortable in its own metal. And why wouldn't it be? This midsize luxury crossover SUV has long been a consumer favorite thanks to its plush ride, spacious interior, strong reliability record and appealing high-tech features. While the RX 350 doesn't promise much in the way of driving passion, its combination of comfort and convenience is hard to top in a five-passenger luxury crossover. It also commands lofty resale values due to that sterling Lexus reputation.
Offering either front- or all-wheel drive, the RX 350 dates back to 2007, when it was introduced as a continuation of the RX 330. It has received significant upgrades in cabin technology over the years, but a generous standard features list and excellent build quality are a given with any Lexus RX 350. Unless you need the versatility of a third-row seat, this Lexus is likely to be a compelling proposition.

Rattle noise, bad quality - 2010 Lexus RX 350
By hoang - April 5 - 12:40 amGot 2010 rx350 about 3weeks. Found some rattle noise from cargo cover and rattle noise inside cabin hard to know where it is at. Front bumper below front light seem loosed. Front seat not comfortable my back got hurt when driving for long time. Lexus should be the top quiet car, but 2010 RX350 is not.

Mixed Bag - 2007 Lexus RX 350
By K JG - April 1 - 8:43 amMy wifes vehicle, replacing her 02 RX 300. Positives include a far more powerful V6, with the guts the RX 300 lacked. Interior design is not as nicely appointed as the old one (Coach Edition). Steering is too low-geared, although the turning circle is improved over the RX 300. The handling exhibits too much sponginess, body roll, and understeer. The stereo is excellent, and the ride very smooth and quiet except for the annoying rattle in the dash! This, frankly, is very disappointing, as there is some rattle that appeared at about 5K miles, giving the impression of poor build quality, and not Lexus. Will have the dealer see what gives, but not encouraging in a new car.

A Bit Disappointed - 2017 Lexus RX 350
By Stephen Martin - March 29 - 11:45 amIve been driving German cars for a number of years, so Im definitely used to a different feel behind the wheel and I had different expectations when I leased the Lexus. The Lexus drivers seat does not fit my seat. I feel like Im always sitting on the left side bolster. I dont like the way the car corners/handles; does not give me the feeling its on rails. The throttle response is not acceptable to me. There are 8 forward gears and it seems like the car is always searching for the correct gear. This is particularly noticeable when on cruise control. I am continually lurching forward as the car shifts through the top gears, even on gradual and barely noticeable inclines; its uncomfortable and annoying. When stepping on the gas the car hesitates, again, as though searching for the correct gear or as if asking me if I know what Im doing. I believe the car is always trying to find the most economical performance and when I ask it to do something outside of its programmed economy matrix it talks back to me. Ive used the radar cruise control only twice, because thats enough of that. I also find the technology to be too much for this old brain to assimilate. My learning curve has been challenging: Ive had the car for a month and have yet to scratch the surface of, much less master, navigation commands, climate controls, even the radio, et al. I dont need or want this much incidental stuff. Perhaps Ill get used to the car over time. I hope so.

Lives up to the Lexus name! - 2011 Lexus RX 350
By Keith - February 26 - 10:26 amThis SUV is everything you expect in a Lexus: comfortable, quiet and reliable. A couple of the features I really like are the steering headlights and the ventilated seats. The only real disappointment is the navigation system which only allows voice access when driving, which really limits what you can do with it. For example, you cant get it to look up a POI in a given city, it will only tell you POIs near you.

Well built & Comfortable but awful Tech - 2015 Lexus RX 350
By Jim Weil - February 26 - 4:09 amThis is a well built and comfortable car. However the technology, while outstandingly marketed, is absolute crap. Voice recognition is extremely inaccurate, complex and distracting to use. It is so bad I have almost completely abandoned it. My 10 year old Garmin portable GPS has better voice recognition and routing features but their is no safe or interfering place to mount it or I would be using it. Emails and phone calls to Lexus & Toyota have been useless. Poor dealer support for tech issues (multiple dealers). Map upgrades are infrequent, extremely expensive & must be done by dealer. Keeping other technology current is also very expensive. The ability to enter in addresses from a computer was a marketing feature but so complex and buggy that it made it time consuming and frustrating for the user. Subsequently that feature has been removed leaving address entry options to be a joystick on the screen keyboard or a complex entry procedure transfer procedure from a smartphone. The screen supported interface is very user unfriendly and is only controlled via joystick. This includes entertainment selection and good air management. Live assistance (extra cost) is often problematic. Some controls are difficult to access when driving. Some others are unneeded duplicates that adds confusion. Windshield has some built-in technology and likely very expensive to replace. Options were outrageously overpriced -i.e. Heads-up display from dealer was $1,000 but high quality from 3rd party was $89. Rear camera is affected by rain. Tailgate has enough force to knock you over before stopping if it hits you. Tech that works well includes Park assist (not automatic), blind spot sensing, and adaptive cruise control. Interior lighting is poor. Car is comfortable and runs well and has a lot of unneeded frosting that boosts the pricing. Good cargo space. Gas mileage is poor. In summary I do not recommend this car due to poor technology, low gas mileage and poor customer support. Based on this experience I currently have absolutely no interest in purchasing a Lexus or Toyota product again. Lexus marketed this vehicle as including advanced technology. In reality it is anything but. In my opinion attempting to use many to the technology features while driving, makes this car unsafe to drive. In retrospect I should have invoked the California Lemon Law.

2008 Lexus RX 350 AWD, the best RX yet - 2008 Lexus RX 350
By N.Ross - February 17 - 8:50 pmThis is my third Lexus RX and by far the best yet. The previous were 2004, and 2005. The 2008 is smoother, quieter, faster and slightly more fuel efficient than the 330s. The transmission shifts seamlessly and the power comes on more smoothly. This car is one that can handle many needs. Its very comfortable and all the controls are easy to use. Everything works perfectly. The back-up camera and gen 5 nav systems are definitely upgrades over the 2005. Both previous RXs were very reliable with no service issues at all, and this 2008 should be the same. Has no problem in snow. Gets you where you need to go in comfort and without any worries. This is where it excels.

I hate it - 2016 Lexus RX 350
By Oculos - February 13 - 7:18 amThe right side A-pillar is so sloped, its almost like a horizontal blind obscuring your vision to the right. The rear view mirror is so large and low, it seriously impedes your vision out the front. The lane departure steering wheel shaker is aggravating as hell. Absent these three issues I would like it a lot. As is, I hate it.

Quiet & Quick/Sleek & Smooth - 2009 Lexus RX 350
By Michael - February 12 - 10:30 amTop notch fit and finish, very quiet, surprisingly quick acceleration, comfortable handling. Useful and spacious cargo capacity. Easy to park and maneuver. Easy entry and exit (especially important for my petite spouse). Bluetooth sound quality is great. Love the navigation system (detour feature saved us on a Dallas trip recently). Family actually likes that it still has an "old fashioned" cassette along with the CD changer. We have lots of books on tape that we thought we were through using. We expect great reliability. Love the RX!

Enjoying new RX! - 2016 Lexus RX 350
By Don K - February 11 - 9:26 pmIll start out by saying that this is my fourth 350RX and I have now had it for only 3 days. The first three RXs (2002, 2006 and 2010) were nothing short of fantastic. Only one repair on any of them that cost more than $1000. I will also admit I hated the look of the front end of this new RX so I shopped around for 3 months, looking at BMW, Mercedes, Volva and Audi. As time went on, I did warm up to the front end look. The sides and rear of the car, along with the interior is second to none. I find the acceleration more than acceptable - it is an SUV, not a sports car. It drives considerably smoother and quieter than my previous RXs and it is very agile. The technology is a bit overwhelming but Im working through that. Practically everything can be done via voice - you can tune the radio or change the interior temperature, all by voice. The GPS is a bit slow, expecially when you deviate from the originally planned route. The seating exceptionally confortable. We purchased this from a dealer that is 5 hours away (closest dealer is 3 hours) and driving it home was a pleasure. The attention to detail is off the hook - the way the leather and other materials come together is awesome. I have the safety plus sytem, and it is wonderful. The cruise control is easy to use (same as previous years) and the new safety plus is easy to figure out. Sometimes I would get behind someone going 65 when I had set it to 72 and the car would start slowing down, matching their speed. The minute I moved into the left lane, it accelerated by up to my set speed. Worked the way it was supposed to......I just had to get used to moving over into the passing lane before I got too close to a slower moving vehicle. The sound system is a wow! You can really rock out in this thing. I put the soundtrack from Pirates of the Carribean on from my cell phone via bluetooth and it sounded amazing. The whole car was vibrating from the bass and it was not turned up very loud. All in all, I am very impressed with this vehicle. The improvements over the past 6 years is unbelievable. I really like the look of the BMW X3 or X5, but in hindsight they are very conservative in design. Beautiful vehicles, but the changes each year are slight. With the RX, the look is bold and edgy. I could not be more happy that I went with the RX and would do it again in a heartbeat.
