The LX model is now available with a sport package that includes a new five-speed manual transmission, side step bars, Michelin tires, alloy wheels, roof rack, leather-wrapped steering wheel and keyless entry. A two-tone gray interior color scheme is also new, and metallic interior accents replace last year's wood grain accents.

Pros:

  • Its just ok - 2004 Kia Sorento

I fell in love with the exterior look of the Kia Sorento, which clouded my ability to like any other SUV in its class. I like my Kia, but wish I had been more selective, and taken more time looking. It drives nice enough, has enough power, but, the back seat is cramped. I wish I could mention the dealership where I bought this SUV. I would not recommend it! Test drive the Mazda Tribute or the Hyundai Santa Fe. I should have considered one of these two.

  • Sorento is the SUV to choose! - 2004 Kia Sorento
    By -

I researched the market before deciding on purchasing the Sorento. I was initially attracted by the sleek design and the fact that it looks like my dream vehicle the Lexus RX 300 (which by the way I can not afford). But the Sorento was a better value for the price anyway. It handles well, looks darn good (an eye-catcher), is very spacious, and is easy on the wallet. Overall, I love the vehicles sporty, but classy, look.

  • Sensational!! - 2004 Kia Sorento

This vehicle is the complete package. There is nothing about it I dont like. Fuel economy...Its an SUV, get over it! Interior appointments rival vehicles much more expensive. The 6 CD changer that is all fed into the dash is great! The turning radius is outstanding. The feel of the Sorento is one of confidence that begs you to test its limits. Nothing but acolades from everyone who has seen it or rode in it. I would recommend this SUV to anyone in the market for this style of vehicle. Hats off tho KIA, reliability will be the true test of this vehicles reputation and that will only come with putting on the miles.

  • Second One Is Better - 2004 Kia Sorento

This is our second Sorento -- the first one did not last 1000 miles! The words they used were misbuilt and electrical nightmare! I called the dealer, and 16 hours later I had a brand new Kia! Hats off to the dealership -- the second one is great. No complaints yet. We looked at other SUVs. This one was in our price range and with three kids it is very roomy.

  • Extreme Disappointment - 2004 Kia Sorento
    By -

Reading these reviews is like listening to myself complain about this car. I have paint peeling off the roof & mirros, my sunroof wont close properly, I have rust on the trunk, Ive replaced two back lights & one front, currently have coolant leaking so heater wont work, have had a/c recharged & again its not working, light on radio and clock go out, bent steering shaft, and many other little items. Very disappointed, and if I thought I could get what I owed Id walk away. But cant imagine anyone would pay what I owe for whats left of the car. After replacing the coolant reservoir my next expense will be to have the rust spots repaired. Fun. fun.

  • The best 4wd SUV - 2004 Kia Sorento

This is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I always have people coming up to me and asking how I like It. I tell them I dont like I love it. If you own this vehicle you would understand what I was saying....VERY VERY HAPPY..This vehicle is the same as the Lexux LS300, but $20.000 less..oops that doesnt make it the same it makes it better.I would definatly recomend this vehicle to anybody..............Don (Long Island)

  • A Great SUV - 2004 Kia Sorento
    By -

I have had my Sorento for almost 3 years without any problems. The car runs great, takes trails with ease and is very sure-footed in the snow.

  • Never again - 2004 Kia Sorento

Every month has been problems & when you try to trade it - be sitting down because you wont get offered much. The last time I handed the dealership the keys & said just pay it out & Ill leave - THEY didnt want it - what does that tell you! I bought it fully loaded with all the bells & spent a lot in add ones - which as long as it doesnt move it looks really pretty. At 32,000 km the tranny started on fire while pulling my new trailer that was rated 8000 pounds less then what the Kia is to be able to haul. This was the 1st new vehicle Ive every bought & I kick myself every day for doing it.

  • Love my Kia - 2004 Kia Sorento

I purchased my Kia a year ago and have loved it ever since, it is a great car and handles great on the road, I have never has one problem with it. I have 4 kids and they were all with me when I bought it and they love it too. The all fit in it and are comfortable. Some times I let my husband drive it.

  • Why Spend More When You Can Get More? - 2004 Kia Sorento
    By -

If your reading this review than you must be considering on buying a Sorento. After seeing one, test driving one and also what it had to offer it made my decison alot easier. Looks like the Lexus suv but about $15k cheaper. I wanted something that my wife was comfortable driving but also the ability to do man things. We opted for the luxury package which I would suggest doing if it meets your budget. Its loaded. The ride is beautiful. Car like with a truck feel. But my biggest selling point was the Warranty. Another factor was the crash test reviews. 5 Stars. Bottom line is this. You get alot of bang for your buck. $25k with a $40K feel.
