The Sorento is an all-new SUV from Kia. Larger and more powerful than the pint-size Sportage (which is expected to return for 2004 after a 2003 hiatus, by the way), the Sorento straddles the emerging middle ground between small SUVs and midsize SUVs. And it does so while offering interested buyers true off-road ability. Key competitors are the Ford Escape, the Honda CR-V, the Jeep Liberty, the Nissan Xterra and the Toyota Highlander.

  Looking for a replacement for my wifes Subaru Forester which turned out to be a disappointment for us, it never dawned on us to seek out a Korean brand automobile. I had started to notice some write ups on the Sorento and I thought this looks interesting. The experiance with this car has been great to wonderfull. It is pleasent to drive, the response is very good and it runs like a bear in the snow that we had this past winter in New England. Our model is the EX with the luxury package having the AWD with 4 wd low.

  Love this suv! The only thing Im unhappy with is the fuel economy being subpar. Tons of standards! Excellect warranty!

  The Sorento rides and handles much better than the Xterra (which I was considering). The 4WD has gotten me out of sugar sand several times already. I put a vehicle through its paces as it is used for work, and the Sorento has met all challenges it has faced so far. From orange groves to woods to beaches to city streets, the Sorento is equally at home. I an getting about 17 mpg with mostly stop and go driving.

  Im very happy so far. Hate the grill design, poor mileage, and stiff ride, but everything else is great. No problems whatsoever.

  I am so glad that they have made and affordable SUV. The vechile drives great. It has alot of standard features that you would have to pay extra on other SUV. I love my Kia. I would recommend this vechle to anyone. Great job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Hard to beat for the money - 2003 Kia Sorento

  My wife and I searched far and long for a mid sized SUV that could take us up the mountains for skiing. After looking at just about every competitor we found the Sorento the best in every category. Our Sorento is loaded with every option except load leveling. After two months of driving, we truly are happy with our purchase. Being built on a truck frame makes you feel like you own the road without being the biggest out there. The interior quality is superb. Tons of read passenger space!!! Only problem has been a few minor rattles. Haggle with the dealers like we did, dont pay over invoice!! Everyone in the market for a SUV should look at the Sorento.

  I purchased my 2003 Kia Sorento on 12/13. So far, the experience has been excellent. The 3.5 liter engine is ok so far, but it feels underpowered. I do not yet know how the vehicle will handle when I am towing my 2,000 camping trailer. We will see this summer! For the most part, I am please with the initial performance.

  I have only had this SUV a couple of weeks but so far so good. The only things I dont like are the front OH lights dont come on when you open the door. The middle and back ones do. The standard AM/FM/CD could use more power. The guage package is rather plain but nicely done. Floor heat mildly comes through dash registers. The leather is very nice. The horn is AWFUL. Sounds like a toy car. Overall a 9 out of 10.

  I was looking for a new SUV and found the Kia Sorento. When my wife and I drove the car we loved it immediately. The feel of the car was tight and responsive. The leg room was excellent, important on long trips that we take. There is plenty of space to store all the luggage. So we bought one. On several occasions at parking lots we got a lot of comments on "what is that car its beautiful, is it a Lexus?" I told them no its Kia Sorento; they couldnt believe it. So its time to get a new car and as you guessed, its going to be another Kia Sorento -- one problem, cant decide on the color. Anyone who buys this car will enjoy it as much as we did.
