This Year's Model Updates:

The LX model is now available with a sport package that includes a new five-speed manual transmission, side step bars, Michelin tires, alloy wheels, roof rack, leather-wrapped steering wheel and keyless entry. A two-tone gray interior color scheme is also new, and metallic interior accents replace last year's wood grain accents.

Pros:
  • Great value, long list of standard features, solid construction, true off-road capability, lengthy warranty coverage.
Cons:
  • Mediocre fuel economy, harsh ride over sharp impacts.

When I saw ,KIA, I was amazed. I could not believe this was a KIA. The design and style of the Sorrento is striking. Needless to say, I am still impressed by the ride and amazed at the sticker price. I am attracted by the warranty, offer of Lifetime tire replacement, free oil changes for three years and far more features than any other SUV in this price range. I think that the LX in black is much prettier than the EX in black. But, the only way to have the options I wanted was to purchase the EX. You will not be dissapointed if you choose to purchase one.

Get over your feelings about Kia. They have put a lot of thought into this vehicle. For once a car company has not equated luxury touches and classy design with an inflated price tag. The feeling you get when you drive this vehicle is not "cheap". I researched and looked at vehicles for six months and this is far and away the most bang for your buck. About the gas mileage..I just came from an auto show and for some reason the overall gas mileage on all vehicles has gone down and most suvs in this class were rated similar. The price we pay for cleaner air.

Cool SUV, looks better than the rest, and cost thousands less.

  • Great except for headlights - 2004 Kia Sorento

I have 78K miles on my 2004 Sorento. I have had great luck with the engine and original brakes and tires both lasted 75K miles. But I have replaced front headlights 9 times. Different bulb types, with gloves on, both at the same time, but they never last more than 6 months. Frustrating!!

This is a great vehicle and not everone has one (see Hyundai - Santa Fe)! I looked up the TMV price through Edmunds and negotiated my deal. Gets tons of compliments! A lot of people think its a Lexus!

  • Sorento - Great Buy - 2004 Kia Sorento

We love this vehicle. The value for the money is extraordinary when compared to ANY similar make. We looked at numerous other 4x4 SUVs - nothing came close to Sorento for the money. The next best vehicle (with almost identical options) was priced almost $2,500 above the Sorento. Kias quality has certainly improved and the fit and finish is nothing short of excellent. As far as "real" off road capability, only the Jeep models and the Kia Sorento are listed by a major off road magazine as having this "real" capability. I would highly recommend the Kia Sorento to anyone who wants the best car for the least money.

  • COMFORTABLE - 2004 Kia Sorento

THIS IS A VERY COMFORTABLE SUV. MY HUSBAND IS 63" AND LOVES THE "ROOMYNESS" ABOUT IT. IM ABOUT 54" AND I LIKE THAT IT DOESNT FEEL BULKY. I CAN SEE VERY WELL AND HAVE NO BLIND SPOTS. THE HOOD IS EASY TO SEE OVER AND BACKING UP IS GREAT. THE REAR SEATING IS COMFORTABLE ALSO. IF NEEDED, I AM ABLE TO SIT IN THE REAR IN BETWEEN THE 2 CAR SEATS.

  • Hard to find more for the money! - 2004 Kia Sorento

We were considering the Hyundai Santa Fe and although we liked the ride, the styling left quite a bit to be desired. We saw a Sorento on the road and loved the exterior so we went to a dealership to take a closer look. When considering performance, safety, comfort and price we couldnt find anything out there that even came close.

  • Second Kia bought in less than 3 months - 2004 Kia Sorento

This is my second Kia. I bought a Kia Sedonna Ex 3 months ago and so far I have nothing bad to say about it. I had a Dodge Caravan which I traded in for the Sedonna, and I had a Dodge Dakota which I leased 5 years ago. The Sorento took its place. My wife loves to drive the Sorento and I must admit I am a little jealous because I drive the van. I am hoping that the Kias dont disappoint me because right now I like both of them very much. I did a lot of internet research on both and found that they both received pretty good reviews. All in all I am very pleased with my selection.
