  • What a surprise! - 2011 Kia Sorento

We were in the market for a gently used SUV with a 3rd row seat and had driven the Lexus GX-470, Mazda CX9, Acura MDX, and the Subaru Tribecca. All nice vehicles. Prior to this I wouldnt have pushed a Kia off a cliff, but I read that Edmunds was singing its praises. We test drove the 2011 Kia Sontera and instantly fell in love with it. It is completely loaded, including Nav. Backup Camera w/sensor and DVD Player. I couldnt be more impressed with this vehicle. We have 2000 miles on it and its a pleasure to drive and the kids love the 3rd row seat. As long as it holds together Im sold. But, for now I couldnt be happier with this vehicle.

  • 3 weeks old and already back for repair - 2011 Kia Sorento

My car is 3 weeks old, 450 total miles. It developed a high pitch noise coming from under the car. The dealer has my vehicle already 3 days waiting for some kind of special grease. Just a heads up for everybody thinking of buying a 2011 sorento

This car is amazing and kia did everything right. There is no need for AWD with the stability control in the snow. This car is the best available for the price.

  • So far so good - 2011 Kia Sorento

Had the Sorento for almost 4 months. Everything has been great so far. It drives very well, handles well and the interior is very well designed. No complaints or problems.

  • Never in a million years - 2011 Kia Sorento

I never imagined driving a Kia until I saw the new Sorento. We owned an 07 Yukon Denali, but were looking to downsize since we only have one child and moved back to our home state. The extra huge truck just wasnt a practical car for our family anymore. I loved everything about the Sorento online and couldnt believe the price or safety features, plus the warranty is awesome. I was sold the moment the test drive began! The ride is so smooth and the interior quality is unbelievable for a car that costs less than 30K. The Sorento has almost every option the Denali had and the gas mileage is already making me proud before the engine is even broken in!

  • No more Government Motors - 2011 Kia Sorento

I was looking to replace my 12 year old Jeep. I looked and drove about everything on the market in the crossover class. I liked the loaded standards and the seats for seven people. The AWD goes were you point it. It is quick and fun to drive. The layout is good and the fit and finish is nice. I had the passenger roof light switch is bad but I have had no other problems. I love the back up camera and it really helps. It turns in a small space. The tires seem alright but I cant wait to try better tires. The car is just a joy to drive.

  • The power of suprise - 2011 Kia Sorento

I always said I would never buy a KIA and thought they were just crappy cars. I saw the commercial for the Sorento during the Super Bowl. I looked into it and when Edmunds.com says a vehicle has very little need for improvement my interest piqued. I was blown away by the car when I saw it in person. Ive been in all kinds of vehicles up a Porsche and I have ridden in very few cars that are this quiet on the road. The gas mileage and power are great. Little known features also got me like Air Ionization in the cabin. Getting the guy from Audi was the best thing KIA couldve done. "Ive got to put my foot in my mouth" I hear that everyday when people see this car.

  • Post Purchase Hitch & Runing Lights - 2011 Kia Sorento
    By -

Purchased the 2011 Sorento new about six (6) weeks ago. Absolutely no problems to report thus far. Positive reports on interior, exterior, performance and gas mileage. Yes, I had to scotch-guard the seats to prevent water spotting. One question on installing a trailer hitch and running lights. It looks like the lights/electrical connections are already installed even though it didnt come with a trailer hitch. Is that right? Also, how much work/expense to install the running lights? This unit didnt come with that package but Id like to install the running lights. Thanks.

  • Great car, but some minor bugs - 2011 Kia Sorento
    By -

I have had my Serento now since the end of March. I put in all the bells and whistles and had it fully loaded. I love all the extras I was able to get for the price. I like the ride qaulity, it is a little bumpy bet besides this the V6 has good power for the fuel economy. The interior is much better than many of the same cars in its class. I loved the two-tone leather seats that were available. Bugs- Shuttering sunroof, finish on the door handle is peeling off, and have a bad tire (not sure if that is because of me or the tire was bad quality). I will update more, it has only been 4 months.

  • Honest Review - 2011 Kia Sorento

I purchased my Sorento late November 2010 replacing a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee (V8). I did about 6 months of research and test drives before I made my choice. I travel for work quite a bit and was looking for something with better mileage. I currently have 12,000 miles on the Sorento and nearly 70% are work related. The mileage was very disappointing at first, only averaging 21 MPG. After the first service, the mileage spiked. I am currently averaging a little over 24 MPG. I didn’t change my driving habits, maybe coincidence? I had one issue with the Sorento, the rear brake calipers were faulty and leaked brake fluid basically giving me a dead brake pedal. I took it to the dealership when I noticed the issue. They were very helpful and accommodating to get this fixed. This happened on a Friday. The dealership gave me a loaner out of their stock and I picked up my Sorento the following Tuesday. As mentioned in other reviews, I do get a little bit of a rattle in the middle/lower dash but this only happens when the interior of the car is cold. Living in Northern Illinois, the roads are far from perfect and any car hitting multiple pot holes and road damage is going to make noise. I am very happy with this Sorento. It was a great replacement against the Cherokee and the Sorento V6 seems to have as much get-up-and-go as my old SUV. For price/options/warranty, no other SUV/Crossover can compete. For an additional piece of mind, I paid an extra $500 through my dealership to get bumper-to-bumper warranty for 10 years/100k miles versus the standard Kia power train warranty.
