This Year's Model Updates:

After going through a full redesign two years ago, the Jeep Grand Cherokee receives a few changes for 2007. Most notably, the Grand Cherokee is expanding its powertrain options and will now offer a diesel engine, as well as an all-new flex-fuel-capable V8 engine that can also run on E85. Additional safety features are now included as standard equipment across the lineup as well.

Pros:
  • Diesel and flex-fuel engine options available, high-performance SRT8 variant, stellar off-road ability, simple controls.
Cons:
  • Cramped backseat, subpar gas mileage with the V8 engine, ride can be bouncy over ruts.

  • Disappointed 2007 2x4 Laredo 3.7L 6 cyl - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Only 24,000 miles and already have a tranny leak! Dont care for the transmission(French Made)they put in this jeep, they should have kept the 4.0 liter engine, and (USA Made) transmission. I forty years old, and have a 2X4 model, I dont beat or abuse it in any way. I all so dont like the delay in the acceleration to the engine. Id buy a Chevy next time.

  • Stalling - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Purchased new but had in shop only two weeks later. Stalls and wont move. All dash lights stay on and have to turn off then restart and usually corrects the problem. dealer cant find problem. The stalling continues. Now have 33,000 miles and go to start it one day and battery blows up! Sitting at dealer as I write this. Stay away from this vehicle!

Purchased new early 08 with every option. My 3 year check in-54k miles. 7 brake jobs, odd considering it was 90% highway driving....27 incidents of check engine light coming on-2 pcms replaced, 2 exhaust manifold gaskets, various cracked pieces of plastic broken while at the dealer while being repaired that will cost a fortune to replace (dealer of course denies). Never driven it rough, never had an accident. Dealer experiences hit and miss, most see unable to address SRT issues and how to fix properly.

  • Love it - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee

So far, love the SUV. Went from a Toyota car to an SUV, rides better! One has to remember it is a truck/SUV and therefore the fuel efficiency is lower than a car. Love the 4X4. The Limited has many extras!

  • Love my Jeep - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I love my Grand Cherokee. I owned a 2002 before this and I am a loyal Jeep customer. I love the way it drives and rides. It is very comfortable for long trips on the highway and short ones in town. I love the way it looks on the outside and inside. The only issues I have with it is that there is a little tire rubbing when I crank the wheel all the way right (doesnt happen when I turn left) and that the transmission seems to struggle for a couple of minutes on a cold morning. Also the gas mileage could be better but what do you expect for a large SUV. I get about 15 miles to the gallon in town and about 22 on the highway. Not too bad I guess

  • Jeeps going the way of Chrysler - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I have been driving Jeeps for 20 years. My last Jeep was a 1998 Grande Cherokee with the V8. It was my dream car. It was time to get a new Jeep. Wrong! Had the new Jeep for one day. Returned it. The new Jeep can’t touch the 1998 except for the Hemi. Where to start. Windows are smaller. Interior is plastic junk for the 35,000-40,000 you are paying. Parking brake needs to be in the driver foot well but it can’t because the foot well can’t even fit my 2 feet. No rest pad for left foot in foot well. If the jeep had the interior of the Chrysler 300 I would have bought one. Whishing there was a brand new 1998 GC on the lot with a Hemi. Bought a Ford Sport Trac instead

  • Awesome SRT8 Grand Cherokee - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is the top performance SUV in the world with acceleration, speed, braking, and handling that must be experienced to be believed. Despite that you are surrounded by a luxurious environment with every feature and comfort you could want. When Im relaxing I must drive with the cruise control or I am going 100+ and not even know it until you notice you are blowing by other cars or you glance at the speedo. My mileage is 14.66 mpg but I never drive less than 85. If you appreciate precision and amazing performance but still need to do the family stuff this is the one for you. You will not be disappointed. I never thought I would own a Chrysler product, Im really glad I was wrong.

  • Great Jeep! - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I have driven Jeeps since 1998. Started with Cherokee and purchased my first Grand Cherokee in 2004. December 2006 I purchased a 2007 Overland. This is a great SUV. Nice design improvements and noticeable change in suspension from the 2004. Had some problems with the CD player and ended up changing it out on warranty. Great in the snow, but all of the jeeps I had were. Love the wooden steering wheel in the Overland. Interior now is similar to a loaded Limited. Not much difference between a 2009 loaded limited and an Overland. I have the 5.7 hemi. City/highway runs about 15.5 mpg. GPS is great, but the newer versions have a 3D mode, which is better. 2007 improved the ease of folding rear seat

  • Great So Far - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has been great so far. It handled the snow really well this winter, and it is smooth on the highway. The heated leather seats are fantastic, and the interior is well-designed and comfortable for both driver and passengers. I had the same problem with the shift module as other reviewers, but the dealership replaced it free of charge and the transmission has been problem free ever since.

  • Disappointed - 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I bought this vehicle for two reasons: the style, both interior and exterior; and the positive experiences of my in laws and their multiple past Grand Cherokees. Unfortunately, I will not be recommending Jeep to anyone. My factory warranty expired less than two months ago, and all my problems have appeared since then. The passenger side power window "up" doesnt work properly. The window stops mid way everytime. The power steering has been making groaning noises for the past week or so. The outdoor thermometer has been permanently stuck at 86 degrees for a few weeks. With less than 40,000 miles, and problems appearing almost daily...this vehicle has been a complete disappointment.
