  • You mean rotors are suposed to be round? - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Had this Jeep since new, now with 28,000mi. Front rotors replaced at 7,000mi and again at 25,000mi. Called Chrysler and they refunded me my money for the 2nd brake job. Turns out they WILL REPLACE THE CALIPERS ON ALL CARS WITH THIS ROTOR ISSUE! Call them and they will authorize for your car to have new calipers, pads and rotors installed FREE! Just hold onto the receipt you have from the brake job.

  • JUNK - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I wanted this car all my adult life. I could finally afford it and all it did was break down. Compare to my wrangler this was junk. 3 radiators. 3 water pumps, constant broken hoses...and this is with my constant care! will NOT buy again

  • AVOID!!!!! - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Car is at the dealer for its 3rd set of warped brake rotors in less than 2 years, at $550 per set (incl labor). Yes, theres a TSB calling for replacement of calipers, pads and rotors, but dealer says Chrysler wont pay for it because the car was purchased used, is out of warranty, and my extended warranty (EasyCare) wont cover them because "they are still working". NTSB, where are you???? Daimler-Chrysler, why are you allowing unsafe vehicles on the road??? Youve lost a loyal customer, and all my friends will hear about it.

  • NEVER AGAIN! DONT BUY JEEP! - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Just had the rotors done again(3x in 3 yrs) brakes, and axle(s) rear and front. This is a big problem for jeep and they dont admit to it. I just spent so much money trying to fix the axle and it still didnt sound right so i junked it and bought a highlander. It was too scary to drive after that. Just didnt feel safe and didnt want to put more money into fixing it. Only 56253 miles on it!! I want a car to last at least 100k. Its too bad, though, because i liked the ruggedness of the jeep but not the quality.
