  • KEY NOT DETECTED MESSAGE/KEY LOCK IN CAR DETECTION DONT ALWAYS WORK - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I have been having problems with the key not detected message which is happening quite often, I thought it may be the key battery. I switched keys (spare) and its doing the same thing. I was thinking it was the key battery at first, but when I switched keys after a while it started doing the same thing so I dont think its the battery. I have to try anything and everything to get my car to crank. The problem seems to be getting worse, I hope I dont get stranded. Also I have accidently locked myself out the car a few times and the car lock key feature works when it wants to, the key was in the console or my purse in the passenger seat less than 2 ft and it still locks.

  • Took Me A Couple Weeks to Really Love It - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Traded in the 2005 Rocky Mountain Edition 4x4 JCG,which I absolutely loved. Have been waiting for 1 year for the new 2011.Purchased the 4x4 6 cyl 26X pkg. (same color Inferno Red) What took me a couple of weeks to get used to was the wider/higher size. A few blind spots & I wasnt as comfortable changing lanes. But I do love it now! The interior is 100% improvement. The media center/stereo system is fantastic. Great not having to carry all my CDs w/ ability to download to the media hard disk drive. Love the rear assist camera and flawless smooth ride. Mostly small city driving, so do not care if I have 6 or V8 , but much better pick up with the 3.6 L, 6 cyl. than the previous 6 cyl.

  • Excellent - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

After coming from a 2010 Volvo XC70, it is clear that the Jeep is better in every regard. After moving from Florida to Alaska, a vehicle with more off-road capability was necessary. To see how good the vehicle really was I drove the whole way. 5000 miles later, my only complaints are that the rear seat is on the smaller side and the front seats dont massage. The Jeep makes up though by being the far most capable off road in the group I tested (Infinti QX56,Hummer H2 and H3, Cadillac Esclade, and Lexus Lx570 as well as having the smoothest ride. Front seats are very comfortable and have good array of adjustments. This vehicle is great and should be able to bring Chrysler back into the game.

  • good not great - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

great size, rear wheel drive but 3.6 does not have quite enough torque - as most v6s go. nice ride but for a new engine needs better gas mileage. meaning 6 speed transmission. i guess the 24 gal fuel tank will give range but at the pump $80 is steep for a fill up?? and price is very steep for upgrades.

  • Best GC yet - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ive owned quite a few Grand Cherokees.I have a video production company and drive the heck out of them mostly loaded with gear.Ive had the 11 for just over a year and have put 66K miles on it. To date the only REAL issue is the clunk in the rear (that I cant find the source of) and the poor quality seat. Regarding the seat, Im 510" 175 lbs and I have a couple of springs or something coming through the bottom cushion, along with the material looking worn already. My seat in my 09 with 100K still looks new. Other than that, super comfortable, great gas mileage (V6), decent power, nice features blah blah blah. Overall I love it. Once back to the dealer for tranny reprogram.

  • Awesome redesign - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Have driven about 5,000 miles with no complaint. The vehicle is everything I had hoped. Mileage is almost exactly as promised averaging 20 to 22 for our type of mostly rural driving, the V6 is very smooth and quiet and gets the job done just fine (we dont do any towing). MPG readout is a bit optimistic. Unlike our old CR-V the JGC is quiet enough for front and back seat occupants to carry on a conversation. I like the firmness of the seats though I can understand why some may feel they are too firm. Overall quality is superb with little road noise and no squeaks or rattles.

  • Thinking Mans MB - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Have roughly 1,500 miles on a Laredo with the 26X package, Trailer Tow Group, Panoramic sunroof, and Off Road Adventure 1 package. Fit and finish seems about as good as previous MBs and BMWs. The driving experience is great with quiet ride and responsive handling for an SUV. Interior materials are (finally) what they should be. Sight-lines seem more limited and the UConnect system is ok, but takes some getting used to. Adaptive transmission needs a better learning algorithm. Very pleased so far and looking forward to driving in the mountains this ski season. Paid $38K for those interested.

  • worst vehicle I ever bought - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The ride was super, the looks super, power was ok, my problem with the V-6 was that standing still or driving there was a constant vibration in both the steering wheel and the floor. Jeep could not fix the problem and it became so iritating that with less than 1000 miles on it, I ended up trading it for a Dodge at a huge loss of money. Would not recoment the V-6 to anyone. Drove two other Jeeps with the V-6 and they also vibrated, the floor and the steering wheel and one of the two the shift lever was also vibrating.

  • Terrible Seats! - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

After driving the Jeep Grand Cherokee for 8 months, my right leg started to go numb. I closely analyzed the situation and determined that the front seat doesnt line up properly with the pedals and the steering wheel. The brake pedal is too far to the left and it forces you to cross your right leg too far to the left when braking. Further, your body is always at about a 10 degree angle to the left from center because everything doesnt line up properly. I now have to sit on pillows to force my body to the left to feel centered in the seat. I will have to sell the car as a result of this.

  • My overland. - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I drive a 2011 Overland loaded! I used to be so proud of my Jeep and would brag about it to everyone. Not anymore! So far the truck has been back to the dealer five timesÂ… thank god not for mechanical failures (so far) but for cosmetic reason. After owning several Jeeps, I wanted some luxury, style and of course towing capacity. So after looking into the X5, Lexus 350 and the ExpeditionÂ…I chose my Overland, boy do I regret my decision!!! The overland is fun to drive, slick looking and just all around FUN. The problem is how the inside of the Jeep was done and how bad the materials used inside are wearing down in such a small period of time. The dash board had to be replaced because th
