This Year's Model Updates:

For 2003, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has received refinements that improve its ride and handling. The suspension features reduced pressure shocks and the brake master cylinder output has been increased to improve brake pedal feel. There are also new brake calipers and a revised steering gear torsion bar. Available trims have been narrowed from five to three; the Sport and Special Edition trims have been discontinued. Standard on 2003 Laredo models is a new high-back cloth seat. Finally, in all Jeep Grand Cherokee interiors, a new cubby bin for holding sunglasses or cellular phones has been added to the instrument panel, replacing the ashtray.

Pros:
  • Powerful 4.7-liter V8, all-terrain capability, roomy comfort for four.
Cons:
  • Noisy and unrefined, questionable reliability.

this is my 5th jeep laredo ive owned- mileage is excellent at 19mpg with 4.7 liter v8, handling superb like a sports car, excellent accelration and engin response-would like to c more room in back seats and also add a 3rd seat and about 8" to vehichle-compared to Ford Explorers ive rented while elk hunting in colorado-THERE IS NO COMPARISON-jeep wins hands down-explorers still like to fishtail down the freeways and 4x4s are not made for off road use!! love my jeep laredo and especially the power seats.

  • This Is A Great SUV When You Compare - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is my 3rd Jeep Grand Cherokee. It does exactly what an SUV is supposed to do with lots of room and easy handling. I drove the competitors and this is hands down the best value for the money.

  • Jeeps are #1 - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

They have the best drive train SUV. They use the old Jeep 4 Wheel system that is very durable. Ive driven almost every SUV and the Jeep was very comfortable but yet very rugged and made to handle the off road. Ive owned about 10 Jeeps over the years and would not trade them for any other SUV. I wanted a vehicle that I knew I could depend on in bad weather. Last winter in NW PA)I drove right through the 4 foot high (plus)drifts in my driveway without even clearing a path and didnt get stuck once. I was on my way to pull a family members Explorer out of the snow that was stuck trying to get out of there driveway.

I had a 2000 JGC Laredo V8 that I really liked, but rotors warped. Bought this Jeep Limited HO V8 early 2003 and have put 35000 miles on in 16 mnths. No front rotor warping like the last Jeep, tracks great, stable through high speed turns as long as you keep a constant turn. Try to "saw" your way through turn and you will upset your balance. Slight harsh shift from occasionally. Maybe a small back seat, not a huge cargo area. But way shorter and more easier to drive than a recent Trailblazer rental. I think the interior styling is still attractive, and open. Resales not the greatest it seems, but I love it so much I may keep. Go with V8 HO!

this is the first chrysleproduct Ive driven ( lease) since 198when I bought a dodge daytona turbo z. That car was so poor that I dumped it at 20000 miles, and swore no more chrysler products The Jeep has been a very pleasant surprise, and the first ameri car that , to date, has not had a problemThe ergonomics are superb, the stylingis great, and the performance is tops, its a great car

  • Consumer Reports Hasnt Driven This One! - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Before buying my 03 Grand Cherokee Overland, I did my research on SUVs at different websites. I have a special interest with Consumer Reports. They really do not like the Grand Cherokee. I was hesitant about buying one, but test drove the Overland and fell in love. The power in this SUV is awesome! I love the leather, features, and pretty much everything (except the gas mileage). Gas mileage sucks but pretty much all SUVs get sorry gas mileage. I am happy with my purchase, especially with CarMax in Stockbridge, GA. I would not buy from any other dealer!

  • Love my Overland! - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Overland is the ultimate SUV. Luxurious Interior, Sexy Exterior, Great Off-road capabilities, excellent sound system, top-notch amenities, just enough cargo capacity, it has everything you could ever need.

  • Its come a long way! - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Ive had three previous Jeep Grand Cherokees and this one, by far, it the best. People are AMAZED by the comfort of the seats, the ride, the power, and its true advantage in the snow (QuadraDrive System). Although I had problems with 1999 and 2000 models, the 2002/2003 has come a long way. For the money, it needs some updated "toys" in the interior to compete with the BMW/Mercedes/Lexus most notably integrated GPS, but its coming. Drive it! If you dont, youll be excluding one of the most comfortable SUVs on the market. As for gas mileage - we just drove from CT to Florida and averaged 19.2MPG the entire trip. Excellent for a high- output V-8.
