  • Mixed bag, hvac system. Buyer beware! - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I traded in a Honda pilot as my Honda pilot had the VCM issues. This car is so quiet on the highway compared to Honda. It definitely feels more luxurious than a Honda pilot. The ride in the car is good considering its a true SUV. However I would advise you before purchasing this car to try out the heat controls in the vehicle. On a cold day turn it to manual at 60° and see how hot the air comes out the vents. It turns the car into a sauna and then goes a complete reversal and blows cold air in. The Jeep dealership told me that is because even in manual mode its behaving like a thermostat trying to get the car of 60°. For this reason alone I hate driving the vehicle.

  • Issues - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have had nothing but problems with this vehicle. I love it, but lately it spends more time in the shop than at my house. I have not had any radio issues, but I have had transmission issues that Jeep does not seem to know how to fix. I have a little over 8000 miles and currently it is in the shop with the mechanics trying to figure out how to put my transmission back together. We spent a lot of money on this car so we would not have these issues. I would say to anyone looking at this vehicle.....wait until they work out all the issues with this transmission before you invest in this Jeep.

  • Grand Cherokee Overland 4 x 4 - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ive had the Overland Grand Cherokee for about a month and have put about 1,200 miles on the car. Im very happy with the technology in the car, the ride, comfort, and looks. I have read complaints about the transmission lag. I agree there is a bit of a lag but I suspect it has to do with the eco mode. When you put the car in sport mode or take out of the eco mode it gets better. It doesnt really bother me as if I wanted a fast car I would not have bought an SUV. I have also read about problems with the U Connect system as well as the Navigation. I havent seen any yet and Im happy with the system. Overall Im very happy with the Jeep.

  • Nice to look at but terrible computer system - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I fell in love with the 2014 Grand cherokee limited. Loved the style and the features included seemed like it was well put together. Sadly that was short lived. Mechanically the car has been good but the electronic head unit is a complete nightmare constantly freezes reverse camera never works heating/cooling radio anything controlled through the head unit including navigation cant be changed when it freezes until you get out of the vehicle make sure the fob is far enough from the car for the computer to reset. 5 attempts so far to fix latest is a head unit replacement we will see

  • Fun to drive if you get it to stop falling apart - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

The car is very nice to drive but this is what weve been dealing with so far and it has only been 8K miles Random error messages about network error. Last door to be closed has to be slammed shut. Navigation thinks it is a block left or right from current location. Cruise control randomly shuts off. Buttons on steering wheel and on the control cluster getting stuck and locking down everything else. Voice control absolutely horrible. This is just a fraction of what we have been going through https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIAzAu0scMY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-ITCrE1oro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWoZPb0Yt88

  • Summit Step Rail - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I purchased the Summit after many months of study and test driving 2013 and 14 models. I needed a step rail for family member safety and ability to use the vehicle. At the time of delivery I was informed Chrysler did not have a step rail that would fit the Summit. I could not believe it so I took delivery thinking they were wrong. A 2nd Chrysler dealer said there must be a problem in the computer because it showed 2014 as accepting the step rail but my VIN not accepting the step rail. As of today, no one has a step rail and I have a 52,000 car my wife can not get into and drive. No after market available either. I googled the problem and found a Jeep Forum question dated Oct 2013.

  • Loving this baby! - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I traded in a 2013 Honda Pilot that I only owned for 6 months. When I bought the Pilot I actually wanted a Jeep, but due to peer pressure, I caved and bought the Pilot. Well after 6 months of driving what felt like a cardboard box on wheels, I traded for the Jeep Limited. I LOVE this car. It is very responsive and smooth. The interior is exquisite and I love the detailing on the leather seats. The exterior is actually what sold me on this SUV. It looks so refined and streamlined. I actually didnt even realize that it was different than the 2013 models, but oh boy is it. Keyless ignition is awesome. Love the fact that I dont have to dig for my keys in the bottom of my purse.

  • Glad I leased it - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Owned the car for 8 months and 3500 miles. The 8 speed transmission with the PentaStar V6 is terrible and the other Edmunds negative reviews on that transmission are 100% accurate. Upshifting between gears 1-3 is poor, and it slams into 1st gear at the downshift. Have been to the dealer many times, the software updates to transmission only last for a few days before it goes back to shifting badly.

  • 2014 JGC Overland 5.7 L - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I had a 2012 JGC SRT and had nothing but problems ranging from the transmission to the radio not working. Purchased this 2014 Overland and found out yesterday that the axel was installed improperly (according to the dealer) or that the axel "popped out" according to Chrysler. Shifting is clunky, problems with freezing screen. WHen on NAV it shows radio instead but other, window overlubed causing oil streaks and passenger seatbelt not retracting. I have only owned this Jeep for 1 month and 4 days. Dont think i will ever buy another one.

  • The best of what we are made of? - 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

To make a long story short, I picked up my 2014 JGC on June 13 with 12 miles. Made a right out the dealer lot and the radio (8.4a) would not stop flipping. Transmission would not shift out of first gear. Took it right back to the dealer. The steering column sensor was bad, which controls the radio and transmission. This part had to be approved and shipped by Chrysler. It took over a week for the dealer to receive the part, and another couple days to install the item and test the vehicle. I understand that mistakes happen and you can not expect perfection. However, a DOA vehicle, Chryslers taking so long to repair a vehicle, and other little defects cause me to questions the build quality.
