Overview & Reviews
For 2003, the Jeep Grand Cherokee has received refinements that improve its ride and handling. The suspension features reduced pressure shocks and the brake master cylinder output has been increased to improve brake pedal feel. There are also new brake calipers and a revised steering gear torsion bar. Available trims have been narrowed from five to three; the Sport and Special Edition trims have been discontinued. Standard on 2003 Laredo models is a new high-back cloth seat. Finally, in all Jeep Grand Cherokee interiors, a new cubby bin for holding sunglasses or cellular phones has been added to the instrument panel, replacing the ashtray.
- Powerful 4.7-liter V8, all-terrain capability, roomy comfort for four.
- Noisy and unrefined, questionable reliability.

Excellant SUV - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Jeep6855 - January 11 - 2:00 amThe Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd. is the best SUV I have ever owned. Everything has functioned perfectly in everyway and for a V8 4X4, 21-23mpg on highway is great. Also think the ride is just about perfect, not too smooth and not too firm.

Still running great - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jim in alabama - December 14 - 12:50 pmComing up on 2 year of ownership and still no problems. Normal mx and just replaced tires. Never added a drop of fluids between changes. I change my oil every 5000 miles and my Cherokee still runs like a top. Jeep did good when they built this one. Leather is still in great shape. All the bells and whistles still work as advertised. Just bought a Liberty for a tow vehicle for my motor home, hope it is as good as the Cherokee.

Jeep - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By questions1490 - December 7 - 10:00 amThe Grandcherokee is the best vheicle Ive ever had. Before it I had A Ford Explorer which was the biggest lemon EVER! I had the Explorer for 3 months and it broke 12 times. It costed me about 10,000 dollars of mechanical problems.

Its a Jeep Thing! - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Gabriel Welch - October 25 - 11:18 pmI purchased my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 183,000 miles from a private seller because I needed something with 4WD that would carry me through the harsh New England winters. The Jeep was it! It was a great value and the Jeep never let me down! It was stylish and comfortable too. It was probably the most reliable vehicle Ive ever had the pleasure of owning. The only issue I had during ownership was an evaporative leak and if you know cars, then you know an evaporative leak is nothing, especially for a vehicle with high mileage. I sold the Jeep with 197,000 miles and it had no signs of stopping anytime soon. I sold it to someone locally and I still see him driving it around town from time to time. The Grand Cherokee in unstoppable!

Excellent Jeep! - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By kbohip72 - July 28 - 10:00 amIve now got over 21k miles on my Overland since I bought it new. In that time its been trouble free except for the hvac motor. It stopped working so the dealer replaced a resistor and since then its been fine. I LOVE the interior and the excellent HO motor. I owned two 5.9 Grands before this one and I can say that the acceleration between the two is identical. The 4.7 gets much better gas mileage though and also has the option of running on regular gas without the need for a computer flash. After over a year of driving and 21k miles I fully recommend the Overland!

Great Mountain Vehicle - 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Brad L - March 2 - 10:00 amLiving in the Sierras we certainly get our fair share of snowy and icy conditions during the winter months, our Grand Cherokee Limited handles these conditions with no problems at all, we especially like the Quadra- Drive system and the HO V-8. An all around great vehicle for people who have to commute in less than perfect conditions
