  • Best car I have ever owned! - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

I purchased my Jeep with 100,000 miles on it; within 3 months I have put 11,000 more miles on it, and this Jeep is going strong. No major problems with it at all ever, besides maintenance like all other vehicles. I do not know why everybody complains about this style of Jeep. If you treat it good, it will do the same for you! I have 20" chrome rims on mine, with no brake problems what so ever, and they are heavy rims. The only thing that has been replaced are the pads. Jeep couldnt of made this vehicle any better. I plan on driving mine until the wheels fall off!

I have had this car for a little over a year now, and I dont have anything to complain about so far! It has been reliable, comfortable, and it always gets me where I need to go no matter the weather.

  • Very Pleased - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I bought my 2000 JGC in 12/99 and have been extremely pleased. I now have 58,000 miles on it and have only replaced the brakes 2 times. The first time was due to the front rotor malfunctioning at about 17,000 miles.

I bought this new and have put 108,000 miles on it with no trouble at all. I average 21-22 mpg on the highway and 19-20 around town. You cant find many SUVs that will give this kind of performance. The only thing I have done is change the oil and put gas in the tank. I am extremely pleased with this purchase. I also tow a 2,000lb boat about 15 weekends per year, the in-line 6 has no problems. This is my second Grand Cherokee (also owned 1995) and no problems. My boss and stock broker have same both with in- line 6 and they love them, no problems.

  • High mileage and still going strong - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have 291,000 miles on my Jeep. Yes, I have had repairs beginning at 120,000 through 190,000. The cost of repairs exceeded the cost of my Jeep. However, I HAVE NO PAYMENTS on a newer car, and in analyzing this expense vs buying a new one, Im still ahead. Paid 12K and put in about 16k. For the repairs, replaced the CV boot about 3 times, replaced regulators in the front windows, and the transmission at about 240,000. And an infamous rattle in the rear end which finally turned out to be the rear door. Truthfully, most of the cost of repair went to inexperienced mechanics that thought they could fix anything, and knew nothing about jeeps. Its a great vehicle and well worth keeping.

  • Dont Buy this Vehicle!!!!!! - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

Bought this vehicle new, and have had nothing but probems. Rotors keep warping, door locks keep breaking. I called Chrysler customer service numerous times since the problems were never resolved, they refuse to honor the warranty on their own parts. Ive owned two Jeeps prior to this one, as well as other Chrysler vehicles, and will never pruchase another one. They could care less about keeping their customers happy.

  • Never Again - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

My first Jeep Grand Cherokee was a 1997 model with the V8. It was a wonderful vehicle except for the gas mileage. When my lease came up I opted for the new and improved version, a 2000 model. This vehicle has been in the shop more times than my previous 3 vehicles combined. The service staff knows my name when I walk up to the counter. I complained enough that Chrysler put new front rotors on my vehicle at 37,000 miles. Other problems to note: power windows, keyless entry forgetting codes, vehicle not starting due to computer system,....I could go on and on. I will never buy another Chrysler product!

  • Quality keeps improving in JGC - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This is our fifth Jeep since the 84 Cherokee(which was totaled one night but my wife walked away from.) We bought this used off a lease return with about 21K miles. It now has over 48K and has been a rugged performer driving through some very harrowing winter conditions here in the Cascades; all of it without any major failures of any equipment. Better gas mileage than any of its predecessors(18.1mpg)with more power than expected. Great visibilty, good road feel: just an easy car to drive.

  • does good off road - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I bought this for a family vehicle and it has done very well it was a 1 owner when purchased @94,000 miles. It now has 121,000 and has had no Major problems I think this is due to the owner before me taking care of it I have had to replace the radiator and idle air control (the iac was causing it to die at idle) and its due for a tune up I do all my own work so no labor to pay for and most of the time after a little searching I can find the new parts I need cheap oil gets changed every 3k miles with mobile1 10w-30 its had it share of offroad and did well overall a decent vehicle if its taken care of I think I love it and would drive on or offroad anywhere
