its a Jeep! - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Ryan - October 24 - 2:56 pmI have had three Jeeps now, two of which were Wranglers. Although I still love the Wranglers, they cant compare to the everyday capabilities of my Cherokee. I have a 99 Limited and have yet to encounter any problems. The power is great coming from the 4.7L engine and the overall quality is superior. It goes great in the snow. Ive had to pull out Blazers before in places that my Jeep wouldnt even bat an eye at. This is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned and will definitely buy the new 05 Hemi within the next few weeks.

Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7L 4WD - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By aerotechie - October 3 - 6:33 pmPros: Great looking, great driving, comfortable SUV. Plenty of torque. Cons: Fuel mileage. Reliability. In 1.5 years, have had to replace tie rod ends, one front hub assembly, rear axle bearings, exhaust manifold gaskets, door control modules (for power windows and locks), crankshaft position sensor, striker switches in doors, HVAC unit, and the battery twice. Vehicle was purchased with 93k miles and is used primarily for commuting to and from work on rural roads--i.e., I dont drive it hard. Always left wondering what new problem will emerge.

Great SUV for the money - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By DAVE - September 27 - 10:30 pmBought the Jeep Grand Cherokee with 80,000 and have been totally happy with the vehicle. Even at 6 years and 80K it looks and drives like new. Lots of power and still gets 25 MPG on the highway. Turns more heads than any other $9,000 vehicle I know of.

Still rugged and fun. - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Matt - August 24 - 10:16 amThese vehicles are fun to drive and fun offroad. The downside is the fuel economy with the gas prices as high as they are. The engine is superb, with the straight I6, it has plenty of pickup and go.

very solid - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By disciple - August 19 - 2:00 amI have owned this Jeep (2WD GC Laredo) since it was new. Had a few issues - replaced fuel pump seal twice (once under warranty), replaced oxygen sensor. Fun to drive. Has 84k miles now, still solid. Has almost always had a "double-clutch" feel up-shifting from 2nd to 3rd under load, but never gotten worse. I am very pleased with my Jeep.

By rocks - August 12 - 10:00 amCar now has almost 60,000 miles. No problems except toe-in/out requires monitoring and adjustments every 20,000 miles or so.Gas mileage on a 1000 mile trip decent, 22 mpg. city driving 17 mpg. Color being stone white doesnt show road dirt, easy to clean. Very comfortable seats.Visabilty very good.

Thw worst vehicle $30K can buy you - 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By WhyDidIBuyThis - June 24 - 2:00 amFrom the day I got this vehicle, it has been one thing or another. It just seemed like everything was falling apart inside-out. Considering I traded in a Honda Accord to get this Jeep, made me feel like a loser even more. Current list of problems - broken transfer case, break system failure, suspensions need replacement, steering wheel alignment, power windows dont work. As you may have guessed, all of this starter happening right after the warranty expired.

By ESTANLEY1961 - June 23 - 8:10 pmWhat can I say this is a fun SUV and has style it is at home in the city or the farm It has taken three kids to college. Pulled trailers my daughter car after she had an accident. It also got me to work which is 40 miles away in all kind of weather snow pouring rain it takes everything you throw at it and comes back for more. the only problems are normal wear and tear and minor little annoying things clock spring door lock speed sensor. I like this one so much I bought a newer model I hope I like it as much
