  • Best car I have ever owned but... - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Looks sharp, rides like a dream, interior/exterior are fantastic. I have received compliments from people in parking lots who had Jeep GCs in the early 2000s/90s tell me that the new design will bring them back.

  • Not the Grand Cherokee of old - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ive had this Jeep for 6 years now and I am generally pleased but it falls short of an A. My complaints may not be applicable to everyone since I"m 64". The driver seat is not comfortable. Leather is stiff and the upper part of the seat hits my back wrong. Also, poor lumbar support. My next issue is visibility. Rear view mirror is too low due to the convenience console on the ceiling (garage door opener/Sun glass holder). Rear window wiper assembly is huge and obscures vision. The only mechanical issue I had was failing air conditioning (twice).

came out of a 2000 expedition.wow, what a difference on so many levels. 1st, expdt. was very comfortable, but other than that, car gave me too many problems. jgc is awesome, love everything about it. handling, comfort and all the technology!!! everything is where it should be and lots of great features. upgraded to x package with all weather package which gave me a sunroof, quadtrac II, daytime running lght, h.d. rubber mats (got carpet ones too, free).and some other goodies. got the navi. works good. stereo is awesome and already had some snow and ice in philly and handled excellent. different than exped. compared it to 4runner, edge and mdx and liked this the best!!

  • Electrical and Service Issues - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I actually bought the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland 5.7 Hemi V8 4WD. I loved it, but about 10 days after I bought it it started to have electrical problems that caused the engine to die while in motion. The dealership where I bought it were clueless about what good service is so I took it to another jeep dealership and they have been wonderful. But, the vehicle has been there for a week now. The part needed, the engine computer, has to come from Detroit and may be on back order. So it may be some time before I see my Jeep and my rental car is becoming very expensive. So I would not recommend the new Jeep until they iron out some of its mechanical problems.

  • Overall great, but a few annoying problems so far - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I have had my 2011 JGC Limited Hemi for about 7 months now. Its quiet, fast and handles pretty well for a heavy SUV ~ 4800 lbs. One major problem I have had is I went to start it and it was dead in my driveway. Found out the ground bolt for the starter sheared off. No clue how it happened, dealer had never seen it happen before. Automatic HVAC required reprogramming, would only blow hot air, seems to work ok now.. Pretty happy with the vehicle, very solidly built compared to my 2005 JGC which I hit into a concrete embankment at 50 mph and walked away without a scratch - hyrdoplaned. The vehicle is cheap life insurance, very safe.

  • great SUV; AC concern - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    By -

This GC (2011)s only 8 weeks old, Very fun to drive and very comfortable. Already have 10k miles. Have had Chryslers x5 in the past and made the switch to Jeep. The exterior is amazing, great design and great color. Only one concern, travel alot and have a problem with the AC. Blows high when on low and vice versa without adjusting the settings. Also, on a 19 hr trip, AC stopped for over 5 hrs!! Has been in shop x4---mechanics cannot find problem, Anyone having these problems too? Or solutions?

  • First Drive Review - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ive only had my new Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited for a few days. Thats why I only gave Reliability a 3. Time will tell in that category. The Jeep is fun to drive. The acceleration is good not great. I dont understand when people make comments about poor acceleration for quick passing on the highway or slight body lean if you corner to fast. If youre trying to do either of these things then you shouldnt be looking for an SUV. The V6 is good enough for most unless, you tow, need a lot of acceleration for off-roading or carry around a large family with the cargo area full. I will update this after Ive driven for a few months...
