Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

just bought mine less than month ago and love it. I didnt know when I bought it, but I have the 2003 1/2 which has some upgrades I love. The xenon lights and the Infiniti written out on the back side instead of boxed.

  • Grrrrreat engine - 2004 Infiniti G35

I loved the car in 04 and I still do now. In terms of the styling this car is the watermark - they messed up the lines of car with the styling revision of the grill and lights in 05 and the current model just doesnt inspire the head turning that this one had. Reliability - excellent. The only out of pocket expenses was for brakes. Handling is real tight and this car is plenty fast. The additional hp of the later year models doesnt help the mpgs. If they make this model again - with the brake dust issue addressed and the inclusion of larger seats found in the current model... please sign me up for a new one!

I have owned my G-35 for 2 1/2 years and have had zero mechanical problems! Its fun to drive, easy on the eyes, comfortable and classy!

  • Excellent Car - 2008 Infiniti G37

It took me a year to decide on the right car. I test drove and considered IS, 3 series, A4, TSX, 350Z, RX8. I owned 2006 GS 430 before I bought the G37; Id say the G37 is just as powerful as the V8 in the GS 430. This is really an excellent car.

  • Luv my QX4 - 1997 Infiniti QX4

My first SUV, bought it used in 99 with 26,000 miles on it. Now has 60,000 miles. I had a problem with the exhaust system which the dealer repaired free of charge. The gas pedal sticks occasionally. Other than that no problems at all. I love it and would probably buy another one. I love the smooth ride and the luxury feel inside the cabin. Would highly recommend it!

  • Refinement Needed - 2003 Infiniti M45
    By -

Well the ergonomics could be better. The shifter, cup holder and armrest need to be reconfigured. So does the CD player (single in-dash is preferred). I have 3,500 miles on the car and I had a problem with the Trans. getting stuck in 2nd. gear @1,200 miles. Tried everything, finally shut the engine off and restarted, appears ok. The dealer tested it repeatitally with nothing found (the trans. is lazy while in automatic mode, when stepping on the gas to down-shift and pass). Oh the gas milage does stink, and I dont drive it wildly, ok very seldom... getting about 18mpg.

  • Great Value - 2003 Infiniti G35

after months of research, I concluded this car is the best value sport sedan going - great power, available 6 spd manual, rock solid Infiniti build quality and reliability, all for thousands less than the Euro competitors. Sure, a 340 hp Audi S4 would have been great, but for 13K more?? G35 was just the balance between sporting performance, daily use practicality and fiscal responsibility I was looking for.

  • the best car ever - 2003 Infiniti Q45

  • Cool ride - 2003 Infiniti G35

This is one of the best cars that I have owned - my last car was a TT - this one is even better and much more practical - the back seat and trunk are a plus - as is the sunroof - Infiniti has a winner in the G35 !

  • Bluetooth and Gas mileage. - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

Just purchased a g35x. Love the car. Car stands out from the rest of the pack. I opted for the black with graphite interior and really believe this is the best choice. Only thing I would like to see changed is better fuel economy and possibly bluetooth. Overall really enjoy the drive.
