Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

I bought this vehicle in April and love driving it any time I can. Everyone in the family keeps asking to drive it as well, no such luck though. I believe the price of this vehicle is a perfect match to what it has to offer. A great vechile at a great price!

A very easy automobile to recommend to anyone who loves to really drive! Handling & power is just about up there with some exotics! 18" wheels are not needed for great handling. That says something! Ride is somewhat stiff but comfortable. So to the seats. After a year, I can report no reliability problems or defects. Dealership cators to every request. Car has a very solid feel along with nice build quality although some materials in the interior are average at best. Not crazy about the orange lighting in guages. Checking the oil is an adventure due to the type & location of the dipstick. CD player cant read MP3s (corrected for 2005)

  • Infiniti I-cellent - 1999 Infiniti I30

This is an excellent car--is very reliable, is extremely luxurious and extremely fun to drive. Right now Im at 131,000 on my 1999 touring model-- this car can easily go another 160-170k without any problems. Maintenance and gas (ALWAYS USE PREMIUM IN YOUR I) can be a bit expensive, but the upkeep is a small price to pay for such an otherwise flawless machine.

  • Wow, what a car. Love our QX56!!!!!! - 2004 Infiniti QX56

We have had our new QX56 for about a month now, and we are so glad that we decided to go with infiniti. We test drove all major full sized SUVs and narrowed it down to the QX56 and Navigator. Both great vehicles, but the QX56 is just that much better in so many areas. We have had no problems at all and I have been listening for the resonance and rattle that some have spoken of to find nothing at this point. If you have any doubts about this car and are on the fence then take my advice...get it now and you will be very happy that you did. I was hesitant at first with it being the 1st year out, but in hindsight it is the best car we have owned.

  • Going to work is just more fun now! - 2004 Infiniti G35

I purchased my G35x about 3 months ago and am extremely happy with my purchase. Its incredibly fun, stylish, and I feel so in control on the road. My only issues with the car would be the gas mileage (especially now when prices are astronomically high). I average about 18-19 mpg everyday commute, and I hit about 24 mpg on my long road trip with no stops. I also find that the heated seat button is too close to the passenger/driver seats and sometimes accidentally turns on if you brush past it. The clock is kind of silly too, as its not lighted and very difficult to see the time at night. Other than those few improvements its an amazing vehicle!

The 2003 6spd G35 coupe is an example of pure excellence. I have had no problems with this fine automobile since I purchased it in July of 03 with 3/4 of a mile on her. It handles confidently at all speeds. Ive had it up to 135 and it feels like youre going 80 mph. This car is worth every penny.

  • What a Car!! - 2006 Infiniti G35
    By -

As far as my driving experience with the car goes, stupendous. The G35 handles like magic. Ive had instances where I have snaked the car through curvy, mountainous roads at speeds exceeding 65 mph, and have had no issues at all. The thrust this thing can produce can be overwhelming sometimes, say how about a very noticable acceleration when crupsing at 65mph. It feels like there is some stored power in there somewhere at times when you need that extra push! The only downside to this car is the winter weather driving. Being a rear wheel drive makes it a little rough sometimes. Also, it being a small, light car has some disadv especially with the wind.

  • Bury me in it! - 2011 Infiniti EX

A plush Chestnut interior and Garnet paint color makes my car stand out in a crowd. Great horse power (297) coupled to a smooth 7 speed. AWD for winter (CA) skiing trips. Comfortable leather heated seats, great driving position, turn radius, noise isolation, XM radio, nav system, 9 gb 11 spker sound system make for a surprisingly good touring car w/ rear seats folded down for the wife and I (kids are GONE). W/cross supports on the roof rack - a perfect ski storage system. AWD gets it done in moderate snow conditions (all weather tires limit this). Rear seating ok for short car pooling trips - up to 4 passengers. After 5 months and 6,000 - its a KEEPER! Car is trouble free to date.

  • The Infiniti JX35 is CRAPTASTIC - 2013 Infiniti JX
    By -

Multiple issues w/ front passenger side airbag sensors not working correctly. The airbag would turn off while someone was seated in it. The Infiniti dealer in Fresno wasnt able to fix it, they gave us multiple excuses from "its working as designed" to "your not sitting in it correctly". What a crock!! The transmission failed at 59K miles which was covered under warranty although the new transmission only came with a 12K mile warranty. The wipers would come on whenever the felt like it. The weather stripping for the rear doors would regularly fall off. What topped it all off was the service advisor recommending that we not keep the car past 100K miles! The advisor told my wife that he had looked into buying a JX35 for his wife but opted to buy a Honda due to reliability issues. So last Saturday (7/9/16), was my second best day of JX35 ownership, I sold it! I will never own another Infiniti product ever!

  • Just the Best. - 1998 Infiniti Q45
    By -

Simply the best car Ive ever owned. Told my wife yesterday that if we had a ton of money, I would just keep rebuilding this car as it aged. Comfortable, quiet, reliable, powerful, good features. Would not trade for BMW, Lexus, Mercedes,... Maybe for a Rolls?
