Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • The Infiniti is the cream of the crop - 2001 Infiniti G20

I have owned and driven in every Japanese and German car. I have also had my share of American cars as well. I stand by the fact that, "Infiniti" is by far superior to any American, German, and Japanese automobile around. Drive one and see for yourself.

  • Excellent... - 2005 Infiniti G35

Love the car. Be prepared to lay out a lot of money on tires if you buy the sport tuned suspension package. I got 16,000 miles out of the first set of tires and had to spend $1,500.00 for new Michelins. In the long run it is worth it because the car brings me great happiness every day. The only complaint that I have is the right rear brake has squeaked since the day I drove off the lot and the dealer has been rather unresponsive.

  • I LOVE this car!!! - 2005 Infiniti G35

I just bought this car yesterday and I LOVE IT! I have been looking at Infinitis for over 2 years and am glad I stayed with them. This car has power beyond dreams, comfort and style along with elegance and class. I only wish tinted windows were part of the package but I will be taking it in on Monday! I have driven a Durango for the last 6 years so the mileage isnt a huge issue and the power makes it well worth it!

  • Excellent Fun For Your Dollar - 2005 Infiniti G35

7 Months & 5,500 miles into this car and I am as happy with this car today as the day I picked it up from the dealer. Test drove BMW 325 before purchasing the G35 Coupe. And here are the main reasons why I picked the G35. 1) Looks, the G35 is very unique, stylish and classy. BMW 3 Series is also very stylish and classy but come dime a dozen in my city. 2) G35 had a very noticeable acceleration and torque advantage. 3) The G35 was approx. $2K less and insurance was also less expensive. 4) Cornering and handling on both cars are excellent. They do have different feels to them and in this category Ill rate them equal.

  • Terrific Luxury Ride - 1998 Infiniti Q45

This car feels like it was built from a solid piece of steel. In my 20,000 miles, nothing has hinted at going wrong. Absolutely silent and smooth at idle, with a BMW growl when you push a little, comfortable seats and a sensible list of accessories make for the best of the 40-odd cars I have owned, especially dollar for dollar.

  • Nice and Sporty Entry Level Luxury Car - 2005 Infiniti G35

I bought this vehicle after I totaled my 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I wanted something very nice but not too expensive considering I was only going to finance something for about 3 years (I didnt want to keep my next car very long). I ultimately decided on a used luxury car and found this. It is a great car. It is fast, very comfortable, drives smoothly, luxurious, and actually gets ok gas mileage. I like it much better than my Eclipse. Drives amazing at 66,000 miles.

  • Vrooom! - 2008 Infiniti G35

I bought this car after trying the BMW 328i, the Lexus IS 350, the VW Passat , and the Nissan Murano. Lets just say there was no contest. The Passat and the Murano were nice but not in the same level, the Lexus was heavy and at times I almost had to shake the car to move, and the BMW though handled well, wasnt as much fun as driving this or even half as decently equipped. This car impressed me from the get go. It handled well on the curves and on the straight line. It is smooth to drive, and I can hit 75 effortlessly. The interior is extremely sleek, the Japanese finish is a nice touch and the seats are very comfy. The backup camera takes trust but it is easier than I thought to gain.

  • Hard to beat! - 2006 Infiniti G35

I bought a 2006 G35 sedan 6MT new in December of 2005. I now have 61k on it and its doing great. Very quick, smooth V6, 298hp. The only rear drive manual car I could find under $40k that had any performance to it. I previously had a 1999 BMW 328i with performance and luxury packages. Loved the car, but had electrical glitches? The Infiniti is worry free and the dealer experience has been great! Light grey (stone) interior stays dirty though. Im buying a new 2009 G in the fall... to bad it wont be the G37 sedan!!!

  • FANTASTIC II - 2007 Infiniti M45
