Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Too Many Squeaks, Rattles & Vibrations - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Its nice looking and fun to drive, though not as sporty as I expected - maybe because its longer than other sport sedans. Manual shift automatic is fun and very sporty, but could be a little crisper. DONT buy this car with sports suspension if you have a bad back - it will jostle you around. There are variable, unpredictable vibrations, squeaks, and rattles from the dash, console, and both front doors near the middle posts. Its like the car is organic and living - it makes annoying noises.

  • From 330i to the G37 - 2008 Infiniti G37
    By -

I have owned a 2001 330i for 4 years and have loved the car. During my research for a replacement I felt I should look at Infiniti as well as BMW (335 vs. G37). Both are great cars and if you go by just the professional drivers reviews from the magazines you might lean toward the more expensive BMW (I was). I drove them both and at the end of the day I felt the ride quality, interior layout, technology, unique exterior, and "grin factor" of the G37 to be superior to the 335. These are the things that matter to me. In addition, in the real world you will never notice or take advantage of any perceived performance advantages either vehicle might have. So, more vehicle for for 8k less..YES!

  • Paint Issues - 2018 Infiniti Q50
    By -

The bumper color on my new 2018, Liquid Platinum, Q50 is noticeably different then the rest of the vehicle. Make certain to look at the car in sunlight or at night under the lights before making your decision. This issue definitely is the reason for for my review. I have pictures if required

  • German cars watch out! - 2003 Infiniti G35

  • New Wheels - 2007 Infiniti G35

Purchased an 07 G35x. I selected this vehicle because a similiarly equipped 3 series BMW would have cost almost $48K. The G35x is a good value. You get a lot of car for the money. I ordered the premium package, NAV and wood trim. The car is beautiful. Im getting about 22 mpg, but did not buy the car with fuel economy in mind.

  • 2004 G35 Infiniti Coupe - 2004 Infiniti G35
    By -

This cars performance is excellent. Three round trips to Florida from MD yielded from a MPG point of view an average of 24 miles per gallon. The ride is firm but expected from a style of this type. If a smoother ride is desired, try the sedan version. The reliability is excellent However the periodic maintenance costs are somewhat more expensive than less expensive coupes. Overall, I rate this vehicle as one of the best rides Ive ever had.

  • Im sold on G-35 - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Best car Ive ever owned. Responsive and agile. Quick off the line and handles great at 75 mph on highway. Fun to drive on windy roads. Throaty growl lets you know its for real. Been driving it for 3 years now and still look forward to it every day. Nuts? Maybe. Great car--yep. Only car Ive ever driven that turns heads. Got 52k on it now and still handles like new.

  • Super Sedan - 2007 Infiniti G35

Absolutely wonderful. I owned a 2004 FX35 and a 2006 G35 Coupe. Loved the FX , the Coupe was too small(no room). The Sport Sedan has it all. Ride, handling and performance.

  • Great for empy nesters - 2009 Infiniti G37
    By -

If you need a big trunk, plan on having people in the back seat for longer than 1/2 an hour or dont like a sporty ride dont buy this car. For two people who like to throw a car around on country roads this is "the" car. Its a joy to drive hard, but very comfortable if you take it easy. My only problem is my wife keeps taking it.

  • Great Value - 2002 Infiniti I35
    By -

Got a grat deal on a 2002 model Infinitis web site will tell you where the 2002s are. My dealership still has three in inventory. Only differences between 2002 and 2003 models are woodgrain around shifter and ashtry, and the satellite radio option.
