Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

One of the first owners.... - 2003 Infiniti G35
By kurtnsac - August 1 - 2:00 amI put about 350 miles on my new white\black coupe in just three days of un filled driving fun. The power of the coupe is much smoother than the sedan. Handling and response is very good. They fixed the light on the clock so it is a bit brighter than on the sedan. The seats are fantastic, and the sound system is second to none. The ride and handling is very German in nature. A lot of car the $$. This is much sporter than the BMW coupe which has more back seat room and a tad bit better fit and finish. If you get a chance to drive one, you will want one.

The New G Coupe - 2003 Infiniti G35
By jeff wilson - August 1 - 2:00 am11/5/02 Got my coupe yesterday. Never bought an infinity before but it was a very pleasant experience. The Car is beautiful. Theres nothing like it on the street. Mine is Black with graphite interior 5 speed auto. Build quality is excellent. I was surprise to see that rear seating room is big enough for a six footer..... The Car is powerful,it handles better than a 2000 Mustang GT and as good as a C-4 model vette. Since the roads are fairly poor in New Orleans the ride is a little bouncy. However, if you are use to driving a car with any type of sport suspension its not a not a bad ride. Buy one and you wont be disappointed. The Brakes are great.

BMW BEATER - 2003 Infiniti G35
By vlo - August 1 - 2:00 amOk. I have test driven tons of luxury sedans(ie 2003 lexus es 300 and bmw 330 stick shift) and none come close to this one. My car is fully loaded: Blk ext, Blk leather int., premium package, custom wood, pop up nav, winter package, aero package, aerodynamic package, perma plate, limo tint on back windows and chrome wheels. All of that plus a phenomenal engine for low 40s. I get more stares in this car than my friends in their boring BMWs. This car feels like i am driving a stick shift with 260 HP/torque. Now I could complain about the gas but the engine is bigger than most small trucks, esp that whack 3 liter bmw x5.

Long term review - 2000 Infiniti G20
By nice car - July 31 - 9:30 pmMy G20 is approaching 10 years and I am original owner. This car has been like a tank. Its held up very well with no mechanical problems. Ive changed brake pads (front) and batteries twice and tires once. I got nissan brand wiper blade replacement which are much better than anything else. I changed air filter a few times. Engine is so reliable that it still idles at 700, same as original factory preset. Suspension still good, but of course not quite as perfect as new. A/C ice cold. Stereo, cd and cassette same as new. Steering has not lost any feel after all these years. Clearly Infiniti built this so solidly and it was made in Japan.

One smokin fun car! - 2003 Infiniti G35
By Hokie Sher - July 30 - 10:00 pmThis is a fun, eye-catching car! I get a lot of "hey, cool car" comments all over town. Maintenance has been minimal, but do expect to pay luxury car prices for service and parts when doing std periodic servicing. The stereo is great, the sight lines are fine. I love the cars power - zoom- zoom!

Best Car I ever had - 2004 Infiniti I35
By Jhb2x - July 30 - 10:00 amI love this car. It is a very classy looking vehicle that rides and performs above all my expectations. The car is very comfortable. The ride is quiet, the acceleration is incredible and the transmission is extremely smooth and quiet. I love the sound system, the heated seats and heated steering wheel. The leather seats are very plush and comfortable. I have had no problems and am treated like royalty whenever I go in for routine service.

2008 Infiniti G35 is a perfect combo - 2008 Infiniti G35
By Carter - July 29 - 10:03 pmI bought the 2008 Infiniti G35 with the Premium/Nav/Sport packages. This is by far the most fun car Ive ever had the pleasure to drive. From the excellently designed body to the excellently detailed interior, this car has it all. It has a wonderful balance of luxury and sport mixed together. The interior is fantastic with the sport package if you like the more modern feel. If you like the luxury feel more, I would not get the sport package because the seats are firm but very solid. If you want a better performance, you need to get the sport package. Either way, this car is such a wonderful balance of both worlds. Excellent car!
