Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Very Nice - 2008 Infiniti QX56

I have now been driving this Truck for a 2 weeks. I did a small road trip around 400 mile. This truck has a very smooth ride. I would compare to more of a sedan ride. The technology is very user friendly. The cabin is loaded with comfort. The 3rd row is great for little kids which I have. The Dvd is nice and the back cabin heater/ac. The captain chairs in the 2nd row are very nice along with the push button seats. The drivers control area is well thought out. The only real problem with the Truck is the fuel economy. I am getting 11 mpg in city and 16 mgp highway. One has to be able to afford the gas. If you are driving more than 1000 miles a month I would not buy this truck.

The car is great...ergonomics are a little off, dashboard tends to make it resemble a mimi-van. Great pick-up and nice ride.

  • Nice vehicle, BUT - 2011 Infiniti QX56

Car has an unbelievable amount of wind noise coming from roof area at highway speeds. Complained to dealership and they stated that this was average for an Infiniti product. If this is average, I will never by another. Also, vehicle has developed a surge when at a stop. Was told that a recall was coming on the transmission. Brought the car in to be looked at, no code on computer so Infiniti will not replace the transmission. Nice design, but Infiniti needs to work on quality if they want to be in the luxury car market and compete with the BMW and the rest of the big boys.

Was going to get the 6 speed but living in New England I thought better. Car has everything one would want in a high end auto but the price. Blue Slate on black looks sharp. Navi, and premium package were all I needed but tech package for 1000 more seems like a real deal. Car has 110 miles on it, cant wait to open her up after break-in period. Wish it had standard back up sensors because the car is wide and rear is high. The inside of the car is exact carbon copy of the M35/M45. Reason I bought the car, well, its AWD, has all the toys and can run with anything under 40k.

  • Second Childhood Car - 2004 Infiniti G35

I am a 50 yr old female who is having a ball and all of my friends want to ride. The biggest problem is keeping my husband and my two sons, 23 and 24 out of my car so I can drive it. Great acceleration response for highway merging. Tight stearing but touchy brakes. Love the engine sound! Comfortable driver seating. Back seat is a little close but not unexpected. Climate control is really good. Love the dual comfort zone feature. Fun car to drive. Definitely an attention getter. You want to stay in it all of the time.

  • Fantastic Sports Sedan - 2004 Infiniti G35

Ive had the car for 5 months now and it is about everything you could want in a car in this class. Its comfortable, good looking, smooth and powerful. It has a few quirks of design but any car does. It is a very solid car and has many great features. The best thing about it is the driving experience, it is quite visceral and the car just growls everywhere it goes.

This car is a treat. I am thoroughly pleased with the quality of the construction and materials used on this vehicle except for the paint, which seems to be a soft and deforms easily. This vehicle combines sport and class very well. Some features, like heated and motorized movement of seats when entering the back, arnt necessary but add to the luxury of the vehicle. I like the subtile attention to small details such as the multitude of windshield wiper speed adjustments and, automated window movement; when opening and closing the doors it produces a tight seal against the rubber door seals yet prevents premature seal wear. The left foot rest sh

  • Quick sedan, excellent value. - 2004 Infiniti G35

I bought an 04 G35 sedan after yrs w/ front drive cars (Volvo 850, Honda Acord, Acura Integra) This car has enough low end torque but is not overly quick off the line, but the rear drive is truly a hoot. Paid only $30,100 for the premium sedan, fully loaded except for AWD and Nav. You could do a lot worse than Infiniti, and this is probably their best value. I also owned a 94 G-20 sedan, and thats like comparing a peashooter to a bazooka. Buy one of these cars, you will like it.

  • G35 Handles like a sports car - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Bought my G35 about 2 months ago and it hasnt disappointed! This car handles like a sports car and the accelleration is thrilling! Get the optional package which includes sliding glass sunroof, full size spare, garage door opener and xenon headlights. Its well worth the extra 2K.

  • G35 @ 40,000 - 2005 Infiniti G35

Purchased a 05 4dr with premium & sport package in feb of 05. Put over 40k on the odometer in less than 2 years. The car has met most of my expectations, but has fallen short on a couple of things: Good - engine performance, handling, acceleration, sport shift, reliability. Not so good - Fit and finish of the interior is not up to par with Acura/Lexus/BMW competition. Example - rear windows squeak and creak with any acceleration or slight bump in the road.
