Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • 2004 Infiniti G35 Sedan w/ Navigation - 2004 Infiniti G35

I had my Infiniti G35 sedan for about a month and a half. My car has only 1400 miles so far. G35 is a serious performance car. Now I wish I had purchased the car with stick. Acceleration is fast although it could use more low end torque. Navigation system is annoying to put in information at first, but once you put in address, it gives you a pretty good direction. I wish Infiniti had touch screen system like Acura. The back seat is surprisingly roomy. No rear folding back seat though:(

  • Hard to Believe - 2011 Infiniti QX56

Ive read the negative reviews and find them hard to believe, purchased my QX56 2011 in September 2010 and have driven 3,000 miles without any issues whatsoever. The quality and craftsmanship is incredible and the gas mileage has been incredible with over 21 MPG on the road and 15 to 16 in the city.

  • Great car. - 2007 Infiniti G35

This is an excellent car. The brakes are good and matches the power that the car produces. It would be even better if the car could lose about 200lbs.

  • RUST! - 2008 Infiniti QX56

After only a few years the frame on this $65,000 full size SUV began to rust.

  • Best Car ever made - 1998 Infiniti Q45
    By -

I have had my Infiniti Q45 for 10 years. It has 190,000 miles on it and the only thing that has ever been wrong (other than standard maintenance) on it is the alternator at 135,000 miles. It is simply an amazing vehicle and is a VERY underrated vehicle. I finally bought a new Nissan this year but gave the Q45 to my 16 yr old daughter. After 4 months, I want my Q45 back! Best car Ever!

  • Very Unhappy Customer - 2004 Infiniti I35

Infinity should be embarassed to sell this car, especially touted as "Luxury". The ride/handling is so poor it borders dangerous. The road/wind noise is so high that one does not want to drive. The heat fan is extremely noisy. I used to own 1997 and 1999 Maximas. The interior design, in many respects is the same!! Extremely disappointed. Will not approach Infinity again!

  • Well worth the wait - 2004 Infiniti G35

Superior in every way to the Acura CL Wouldve purchased the 350Z if its interior materials were of better quality

  • Narrow Drivers Seat - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Tall men, beware!!!! Drivers and front pass. seats are VERY NARROW and do not adj. well. Front seats are NOT COMFORTABLE for a taller person with larger frame!!! Major tire issues: odd size, so far only Goodyears and Bridgesstone avail. Flat spots from shipping cause poor ride, swapped tires off another car twice!!!

  • awesome - 2003 Infiniti G35

Priced like an Lexus IS300 or BMW 325, size and performance closer to Lexus GS or BMW 5 series. Loads of extras for a price in the mid-30s. Comfortable, quiet and fun to drive.

  • Great Car! Great Performance - 2015 Infiniti Q50
    By -

Great Car! Love the Styling and Performance. Do beleive though that a car in this class and price category should have memory seats standard. There cars that cost much less then this car and have these features. This is a premium car should include that as standard equipment as well as leather seats.
