Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Beauty Without Brains - 2001 Infiniti QX4
By Anita G Hehl - March 27 - 6:13 pmAlthough this SUV appeals to my senses it has become a disappointment from an owners view. I am a small (54") female but find this suv cramped both front and back. Drivers seat is small and uncomfortable on long drives. Back seat has no head room for taller people. Gas mileage is poor (wish they had not made it a 4wd I have yet to use it). Having mechanical problems 1120 miles. "Check engine soon" light comes on and auto will run like choke is stuck . Later it will correct itself until another time. I expected to get 200,000+ from an Infiniti with routine maintenance without any problems. Needs true engine reliability. Expected more from an Infiniti.

Customer Service - 2004 Infiniti G35
By SedanLover - February 18 - 2:00 amThe brakes are terrible and wear prematurely most G35s. This is a safety hazard. Infiniti blames this on the driver, not bad design or parts. They do nothing after the sale to help the consumer. Certainly not up-to-par with the BMWs, Mercedes or Jaguars. Dealer service is horrific. Cheap plastic interior parts and chipping external paint liken this car to a Kia.

4 flats in 6 months - 2015 Infiniti Q50
By Jessica Brathwaite - January 2 - 8:26 amI leased the 2015 q50s in June and I live in NYC. Ive had 4 flats thus far, and at 400 dollars a pop I am more than angry about it. I am trying bridgestone tires this time, hopefully they work better Other than that the car is nice, although the ride is noisy My passengers always seem cramped, but the driver seat is comfortable

Total Sham!!! - 2014 Infiniti QX60
By cbe1970 - December 30 - 11:04 am26-28 MPG? What a sham! Ive had the car for 6 months, have approximately 5000 miles on it and average about 16 MPG! The car has been back over 3 times to the dealer. Each time they tell us there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. They even kept the car one day and took it on various trips on the highway, off the highway, idling in a parking lot, etc.Â… and claim that they were able to get the car up to 26 MPG. Since then, weÂ’ve come to find out that the Hybrid does not work when the air conditioning is on. Really? I live in Florida! The air conditioning is ALWAYS on. It would have been nice if this were brought to my attention by the dealer, prior to me leasing the car.

ELectronics Dont Work - Dont Buy - 2014 Infiniti Q50
By peeg - November 4 - 6:33 amAlthough I enjoy the way the car drives, when I purchased it I was told that "software updates" would correct any problems. Bottom line, over a year later I have to reboot the computer (turn the car off and on and it takes 45 seconds to boot) because the center console is blank, radio doesnt work, sensors for detecting near objects (like my garage posts) dont stop beeping, radio cuts in and out (not reception), apps dont work.... need I say more? Car doesnt live up to billing which is why I bought it. I object to the way they rolled this out and would not buy another Infinity. Never had this problem with my prior Lexus.

I got a lemon - 2005 Infiniti G35
By Sam - October 10 - 6:20 pmIve only had this vehicle for 7 months and it has been in the shop over 20 days and counting. The oil consumption on this engine is comparable to that of a 2-stroke engine - one part oil to 20 of gas. The vehicle has gone through several oil consumption test, the valve covers have been replaced twice, the exhaust pipes are covered in black desposit and inifiniti wont acknowledge it as a lemon. This is not the kind of treatment that one would expect from a "luxury" dealership. Do your homework and research this car very carefully, if you do a quick web search you will find out Im not this only one with this kind of problem.

trash car - 2002 Infiniti G20
By angelperez3 - September 30 - 2:24 amI bought this car seven months ago with 103k miles. In seven months I have spent about $3,00 in this car. I had to replace tie rods, drive belts, automatic transmission, engine mounts, rotors, leaks, muffler, resonator, etc. This car is a piece of trash.

Good looking but poor quality - 2004 Infiniti QX56
By SDT - September 20 - 10:00 amWhile I enjoy the spaciousness of the QX56, I am VERY disappointed in the overall quality of the vehicle. As a former Lexus owner, I was looking for a quality (slightly larger) SUV. The QX56 fit the bill in size but the quality-stops me COLD. In 2 months, my catalytic converter has gone bad & there is a major squeak in the front passenger seat. The problem is that no one can tell me when the part will arrive even though it was "ordered at the highest customer service level (i.e. off road)". In the meantime, my vehicle sounds like a tank-inside and out!! I expected better quality & service in a vehicle of this price range. In my opinion, Infiniti has failed
