Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

New G35 Coupe in NYC - 2004 Infiniti G35
By NYCXLR8 - July 28 - 2:00 amJust picked up my new Infiniti G35 Coupe, Black on Black, 5SPD Auto, Premium Pckg, Aero Kit, Performance Tire and Wheel Package. So far so good. The car is solid and a ton of fun to drive. My driving has been interrupted by 4" of snow though. I went from a BMW 330i sedan to this car and there is no let down. I feel more pull in this car and enjoy being back in a coupe.

Just Outstanding - 2003 Infiniti Q45
By phil baatz - July 23 - 10:00 amI owned the car for 2 years and I never had such an enjoyable automobile. The service department at Infiniti has been just outstanding, it has been a better experience then Lexus. Cannot say enough good things about the car. Find one used and it will be the best buy you ever had in car ownership.

Great Purchase - 2007 Infiniti G35
By Daniel R. - July 22 - 6:10 pmSince Ive only owned this vehicle 10 months and I have only drove it about 5400 miles, its tough to show you my experience. I enjoy the raw power of this vehicle with its 6-speed manual transmission! Love it!! The sound system is great, but would like to have had support for DVD-hudio. You cant use protected media in the player, so I was bummed about the "cheap route" with the player that they used.

Fun and Fast - 2004 Infiniti G35
By jomax - July 22 - 3:00 pmTo put it simply.....This car is fun, fast, quiet and comfortable. Its also roomy, cleanly designed, intelligently designed and has a killer sound sound system for it being a factory system. The colors and trim are warm and freindly without being ostentatious, simply elegant would be the proper decription. But the trunk seems a bit small. The handling is tight, the ride is taught without harsh. The cabin is a bit noisy until you reach freeway speeds, then quiets out and seems to cruise effortlessly.

I Love This Asian Cruise Missle - 2005 Infiniti G35
By chipito - July 22 - 6:46 amThe bullet nose hints at the performance of this relatively cost effective AWD sports sedan. Forward midship engine placement results in a nearly perfect 50/50 weight distribution. 100% RWD with blessed over steer until slip is detected, then up to 50/50 AWD keeps the car on track even in snow and heavy downpours. The efficient FM 3.5 V6 engine has been a dream for the price point - why spend $15K+ more for a Euro badge and more maintenance costs? BMW = Burning More Wealth; Audi= An Ultra Dollar Incinerator; Get a better AWD performance investment with Infiniti

The pinnacle - 2008 Infiniti QX56
By Gus - July 20 - 4:06 pmThe QX-56 is the best SUV secret out there. Stunning fit and finish inside, and excellent engine -- torque and power (mileage is poor though). We get 13 mpg in city driving and 16 mpg highway. If you drive 55, youd be able to coax 17.5 or 18 mpg highway. Beautiful leather and wood accents. Electronics are abundant and XM Radio is terrific. Not a "beautiful" car on the outside, but still the best Ive owned.

Excellent Car for the money... - 2007 Infiniti G35
By KC - July 20 - 2:26 pmPicked up a 07 G35 X recently. I really cannot stop driving the car. It handles excellently, rides smooth, and has every technology. From Satellite radio to laser cruise. Cannot get a better car for the money. Infiniti quality is excellent. BMW just not as reliable in recent times. AWD is also available with full 300hp. Not so for BMW(yet) or lexus(ever?). If you live in a climate that can take advantage of the AWD it really makes this car a no brainer for the compact luxury sports sedans.
