Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Im 18 yrs old and i always wanted a g20 finally my parents purchased me one for my graduation gift. i absolutly loved this car. The interior is so cozy and the exterior is so stylish. Believe me when i tell you this car is extremely safe. Last week another car ran a stop sign and hit the side of my car. Right away the side airbag came out and i did not even have a scratch on me. I am so thankful i did not get hurt and i cant wait until my g20 gets fixed.

With children reaching teen stage, the wife (aka “the boss”) finally decided that we’ve graduated from minivans. Basic requirements: cross-over, 3-row seating, leather and within $45K. Researched: MDX: Pros - Honda name, resale, handling. Cons – Value quotient, dated styling. Pilot: Pros – Honda name, resale, decent ride. Cons – Remember, I’m trying to graduate from driving a box on wheels! Honda with leather starts mid to high 30’s? CX9: Pros – Mazda name, sporty handling, great reviews. Cons – Outdated styling, minivan with long nose. Explorer: Pros – Styling, options, price ranges. Cons – Will top $40K with options. Resale value will exceed loan amount before first juice stain.

  • Its an awesome car.. Really.. - 2002 Infiniti G20

This car is awesome. My friend who lives in Germany has a Nissan Primera like this G20 body style and he has had no problems whatsoever. I love the body design on this car. I have had only a few warranty issues, but the dealer took car of it, and gave me a Loaner car.. in fact I got a G35 Loaner car.. not too impressed with it.. I like my G20 alot more than a G35. I mean ok so the G35 has a V6.. but I mean, the inside does not look all that great.. This is a car I would recommend, even if you were to buy it Pre-Owned

  • Kinda loud - 2000 Infiniti I30

Ive only had my 2000 I30t for 1 1/2 weeks. I can only enjoy the Bose Stereo System when Im traveling on a perfect newly paved road, other road types drown out the awesome stereo system. Dont quite understand why Infiniti would put so much emphasis on no wind noise and totally forget about those noisy tires.

  • Fun Fast Car ! Great Value ! - 2003 Infiniti G35

From the time I took it for a test drive until today almost a year later...I love this car. Handling is comparable to the 330i but the car is bigger and easier to bring cargo when you have to bring the faimily ; ). For you northerners (Is that a word ??) This car handles qutie well in th snow. Add a little weight in the back and with the help of the slip control it is fine...better than my old Subaru ! Infiniti service has only been average to this point...but the car hasnt needed to go very often. If you do get one, Im sure youll enjoy it !!

I test drove it and the new RX-8 and the G35 was a lot quicker and more refined. Truly a better manufactured automobile.

  • G35X - 2005 Infiniti G35

The quality of the Infiniti G35 is exceptional for a vehicle in its price class. Compared to my Jag S-Type V8, the Infiniti stands head and shoulders above in all categories.

  • AWESOME SUV! - 2002 Infiniti QX4
    By -

Ive been an infiniti owner now for 5 years (Q45 and now QX4). The ride, handling, acceleration, and overall usability of the QX4 cant be beat. I urge everyone to compare the competitors and try to find a better bargain. You wont find it. Ive driven 30K miles in a 1.5 years and have no problems. Ive got 49,000 miles and still have a lot of tread life to go. The QX4 drives like a sports sedan and looks great. Get the silver, it always looks good - clean or dirty. Way to go infiniti ... Im trading my 2001 for a 2002!

  • Awesome SUV...The best - 2005 Infiniti QX56

Best car Ive ever driven. My father owns a 2005 Escalade and by many features, including engine capabilities, my QX56 drives circles around his Caddy!

  • Still drives very well - 2003 Infiniti M45
    By -

This car had lots of positives, but the few negatives does sour our ownership experience. Our M45 has a very unique look, which Ive come to like. The interior is still very nice. Our car still drives very well - it doesnt feel like 108K mi. The power is very impressive. The aluminum suspension components cut unsprung weight. A lot of things have broken, which is upsetting. Infiniti service writers are nice, but they will not fight for the customer. Our air bag light has been on since a hair over 50K mi. The warranty is good up to 7yr/70K, but they wouldnt fix it. The oil issue stinks. Due to the bad service, I wont buy again.
