Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Anyone who is looking to spend between $30K-$40K for a sports sedan with all- wheel drive and has been focusing their attention on BWM, Mercedes or Audi products is doing themselves an injustice by not test driving the 2005 G35X. In the first few minutes behind the wheel, you can tell that the Infiniti engineers logged plenty of hours at the helm of those German benchmarks, and learned from what they experienced. The new G35X performs and handles like a sports car, has the look and feel of a luxury sedan, and shreds snow covered streets like a 4x4 suv. No car in its class can do so many tasks so expertly for so little sticker shock. Sorry 330xi and A4, but there is a new kid in town.

  • So Impressed !!!! Glad I purchased the JX 35 :-) - 2013 Infiniti JX

I purchased my JX 35 in May 2012. I am so impressed with it. Forget about the comments regarding the pick up, this baby moves. I traded in a 04 Expedition. Took it on the road to NC, didnt realize how fast I was going, the ride is so smooth. excellent on fuel. I am so very happy. I test drove the Enclave, MDX, and SRX. There is no comparison. Had my heart set on the SRX until I drove this SUV. Salesman did such a great job of introducing me to the features. I am still learning something new everyday. Get off the fence and test drive this SUV, you will not be sorry.

  • My last Infiniti - 2014 Infiniti Q50

Good looking car, strong engine for the most part, comfortable interior on road trips, but overall a disappointment. Definitely buyers remorse. The inTouch electronics are buggy, slow, or just plain dont work. Dealer has been really nice, but they cant change the poor quality and design of the manufacturers electronics. I have a complaint logged with Infiniti Consumer Affairs, and they were also really nice, but unwilling to do anything about the problems Ive had. Ive had the car about a year and a half, and its been in the shop cumulatively for almost a month. And after today, when several functions of the car electronics disappeared, I now have to schedule it into the shop again. I have never had problems like this with any car Ive ever owned. My second Infiniti, but it will be my last.

Fun, smooth and powerful. Handles great for a big powerful rear drive car. 125 mph, no problem.

  • Fun Ride - 2003 Infiniti M45

This car is truly a wolf dressed in sheeps clothing. Its benign exterior looks give no indication of the monster under the hood. Acceleration is "push you back in your seat" quick, and handling is precise. Anyone who picks a fight with this car will lose. Its insulting to this car to obey speed limits. Yes, trunk space is poor, they have wedged the fuel tank in between the rear seat and trunk. Alledgedly this is a safety issue.

This car takes off like a bat from hell. Getting on the highway is unbelievable. The power behind the engine is awesome.

  • Noisy suspension - 2016 Infiniti Q70

Suspension noise over certain types of roads, especially chip & seal roads. Not a very quiet ride

  • Love this car - 2005 Infiniti QX56

Except for the rear door catching part of the edge of the front door, in certain instances, the car is a dream to drive, and own. Comfort, style and the feeling of being safe on the road is built into this car. Cant wait to take it on a long trip. Expect to take it north in August, and give it a good run on the road.

  • Sweet ride.... with a lot of power - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Just got a used 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan with GPS. The first thing I noticed is the strong brakes! They are much better than in the C-class. The second thing is the power. It is strong at ANY speed. The GPS is very nice; but it could be better (I think the respond time is on the slow side). The Bird-view is cool to look at, but it is essentially useless when you really need to look for something. The Bose sound system is nice, but not outstanding, and its layout is confusing. IMO, overall G35 is a the best valued car out there, and the second one is the TSX (in terms of what you get with your $).
