Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

This is a wonderful car for the price. Ive had it for a month and I can see why the I35 is the best seller in the Infiniti line. I have really grown to love htis car. Awesome sound system and the fit and finish is top shelf. I have the Sports package so the ride is very firm. The car goes exactly where you point it.

wow - this car is seriously fun to drive. i traded in the four door after only four months - i think this car is way nicer to drive (although the four door is damn nice too). it drives and handles like a ture sports car. the seats hug you very comfortably, and the engine roars voraciously. peoples faces are fun to watch when i pull up next to them then speed off infront. took my girlfriend to the mini dealership next to bmw and boy were the sales men mad! all the customers at bmw went outside to look at my ride!!

This exceeds all expectations on how my dream car would drive. Its like it reads my mind and adds on feelings i never thought i would have attached to something without a soul. It feels like im in my own personal rocket. Ive recently test drove a 99 Lexus SC400 in which i thought would be the best choice but this car is more sportier and the quality of car and company is at least equal. My lease is up in april 03 on my 95 Range and i wanted a different feel and experience. Problems and sluggishness of my RR with an alluminum buick 4.0 engine are in my past now. I find self salivating not only while driving but when anticipate driving it aswell.oops there i go again :)

  • Better 350Z all the way - 2003 Infiniti G35

I ordered a 350Z base model and was waiting and waiting... looked on the net and saw the G35 and there was one to test drive. I thought it would give me an idea about how the Z would drive, but I never expected to be able to get this much more car for under 30k. I canceled my order for the Z and love the G. Look out BMW, this car is the real ultimite driving experence!

I purchased this car with 27,000 miles on it and it was 4 years old. It has 117K miles on it now. It has held up very well. O2 sensors were replaced under warranty. I purchased it with a certified used warranty from the local Infiniti dealer. This with worth the premium I paid. That warranty was good until 100K miles and the service I received was excellent. My complaints are that the vinyl seat edge is wearing out on the drivers side. Everything else in the interior still looks great. I wish it got better gas mileage about 23 overall - but given the size and power of the car thats not bad. Very comfortable. Quick but a little heavy feeling. Very solid feeling.

I just got this car a few weeks ago but I just cant get enough of it. Its really fun to drive. I have nothing against the BMWs but I personally felt that this Infiniti responded better than the 3 series. I honestly have no complaints at all. I heard someone say that the display was hard to see but I dont get that at all. I think the cabin is well designed.

Fun car. Drives very well. No maintenance troubles. Poor on resale which i think is typical of infinitis. Good car to run around town.
