Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

New Wheels - 2007 Infiniti G35
By Chuck - April 7 - 11:13 amPurchased an 07 G35x. I selected this vehicle because a similiarly equipped 3 series BMW would have cost almost $48K. The G35x is a good value. You get a lot of car for the money. I ordered the premium package, NAV and wood trim. The car is beautiful. Im getting about 22 mpg, but did not buy the car with fuel economy in mind.

2004 G35 Infiniti Coupe - 2004 Infiniti G35
By Robert Brunt - April 6 - 8:30 amThis cars performance is excellent. Three round trips to Florida from MD yielded from a MPG point of view an average of 24 miles per gallon. The ride is firm but expected from a style of this type. If a smoother ride is desired, try the sedan version. The reliability is excellent However the periodic maintenance costs are somewhat more expensive than less expensive coupes. Overall, I rate this vehicle as one of the best rides Ive ever had.

Im sold on G-35 - 2003 Infiniti G35
By rob - April 5 - 10:03 amBest car Ive ever owned. Responsive and agile. Quick off the line and handles great at 75 mph on highway. Fun to drive on windy roads. Throaty growl lets you know its for real. Been driving it for 3 years now and still look forward to it every day. Nuts? Maybe. Great car--yep. Only car Ive ever driven that turns heads. Got 52k on it now and still handles like new.

Super Sedan - 2007 Infiniti G35
By alan - April 5 - 5:03 amAbsolutely wonderful. I owned a 2004 FX35 and a 2006 G35 Coupe. Loved the FX , the Coupe was too small(no room). The Sport Sedan has it all. Ride, handling and performance.

Great Value - 2002 Infiniti I35
By Tririck - April 3 - 10:00 amGot a grat deal on a 2002 model Infinitis web site will tell you where the 2002s are. My dealership still has three in inventory. Only differences between 2002 and 2003 models are woodgrain around shifter and ashtry, and the satellite radio option.

Loving this car! - 2008 Infiniti G35
By pat - March 30 - 8:50 pmStep on the gas and this car takes off like it is jet propelled. The back up camera and navigation system are valuable assets and should be standard on every car. The finish, the ride and the quality are unbelievable. Every place we go we get stares and people stop us and tell us how much they love the car.

1.5 Year Owner - 2002 Infiniti QX4
By khowell99 - March 29 - 9:10 amI have owned my 2002 QX4, 4X4, Sport and Luxury Packages, for 1.5 years and I am continually impressed with the vehicle. I have pushed it hard on road and off, and it always comes out smiling. I have had it in ice, foot-deep snow, and mud up to the rocker panels (no exaggeration). With a little skill it will go anywhere and still does the highway miles like a dream.

Just Shy of Perfect - 2008 Infiniti G37
By tklmn - March 25 - 1:40 pmJust replaced my 2005 G35 coupe with a 2008 G37S. Overall, Im very impressed with the G37 - its better than the G35 in almost every way including better ride quality, improved sound dampening, tech features (long list of them), interior design... the list goes on and on! The only changes I could suggest would include eliminating the shifter vibration, like the BMW 3-series. In my opinion, the vibration goes 180 degrees in the opposite direction of this more refined revision. Also, the torque seems to be in the mid to high rpms, and I would prefer low end torque. Unless I punch the gas off the line, it feels like Im crawling. The G37 is a great car... just shy of perfect.
