Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Best sports sedan!!! - 2003 Infiniti G35

The Infiniti G35 is the best in its class of sports sedans. Try 260 bhp, 260 lb.-ft. of torque and rear-wheel drive!!! It has incredible steering, excellent handling, and strong braking. Considering its high priced competitors, the G35 is not only a bang for the buck, but also outperforms the pack! I couldnt pick a better ride :)

  • The Best I Ever Had - 2003 Infiniti G35

I got this car 3 weeks ago and I still dont believe its mine. Its really a headturner. The price is much much better compared to others in this class such as BMW, Audi, Lexus IS300....

  • Fun - Great Value - Nav Needs Work - 2008 Infiniti G35
    By -

I looked hard at BMW, Audi and Infiniti when I was looking for a new car. Each had similar driving characteristics, but I ended up with the G35 because of the value of the content for the price. Living in Minnesota, the AWD feature was important, and the addition of the Premium, Navigation and Sport packages the price just couldnt be beat. Great linear acceleration with the right sounds. Sticky in the corners with the granny system on, but easy hang the rear out when you turn it off. Beautiful looks outside, nice inside. AWD is great in the winter with the all-seasons. The nav system is restricted from most functions when the car is in motion thanks to the lawyers - really annoying.

  • Great Car - 2005 Infiniti QX56
    By -

Bought this car for my wife and we have both loved it. Looked at the Escalade, Denali, Land Cruiser, etc. and picked the QX45. Interior is very roomy and can actually fit 8 adults (although getting into the back seat takes a little work). The car has quite a bit of power and rides smoothly. Great in dash 6 disk changer and sound system. Definitely a family car as it is a big vehicle.

  • Pleased with my M45 with Premium Package - 2006 Infiniti M45

This car absolutely rocks. The V-8 has "push you back n your seat" torque throughout the power band. The transmission is smooth is regular driving and responsive in spirited driving. Considered Acura RL, Caddy STS and Audi A6. This car blew them all away.

  • more than meets the eye - 1998 Infiniti Q45

We stumbled across a creampuff and bought it on the spot. It had been professionally maintained and was immaculate. If you want to move into affordable luxury, test drive one of these jewels used before you buy anything new. The fit and finish are impressive - stylish without being out there - accelerates as you would expect with a 4.1 cyl 266hp V8, and rides big and comfortable. They got the "touring" part right.

  • From 330i to the G37 - 2008 Infiniti G37
    By -

I have owned a 2001 330i for 4 years and have loved the car. During my research for a replacement I felt I should look at Infiniti as well as BMW (335 vs. G37). Both are great cars and if you go by just the professional drivers reviews from the magazines you might lean toward the more expensive BMW (I was). I drove them both and at the end of the day I felt the ride quality, interior layout, technology, unique exterior, and "grin factor" of the G37 to be superior to the 335. These are the things that matter to me. In addition, in the real world you will never notice or take advantage of any perceived performance advantages either vehicle might have. So, more vehicle for for 8k less..YES!

  • German cars watch out! - 2003 Infiniti G35

After owning two Mercedes Benz prior to my Infiniti, I must say I am very impressed with the quality and the styling of my G35. Also the power is amazingÂ…I love this car!
