Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

I am in the market to get a 2014 QX60 (certified). The overall design and 7-seat passenger is very appealing, but the negative reviews are very troublesome. if you own a QX60, please comment on this post, or email me at 350inusa @ gmail dot com i live in SF area and hope the weather would help keeping the QX60 running smoothly. Thank you. -James

  • Great Used Vehicle - 2001 Infiniti I30

Purchased this vehicle two model-years old with 28,000 miles, currently has 105,000 miles. It has been a stellar performer! Very comfortable and refined interior and classic exterior body styling. This car has clearly spoiled me. It is going to be difficult to replace this level of refinement and trouble-free driving, and do it with a reasonable price tag. Mileage has been better than expected for this size vehicle, combined driving consistently averaging 25. Only complaint is the underbody design puts stress on the exhaust system; I have had to replace it three times. Other than that, just routine maintenance.

  • Couldnt be happier. - 2003 Infiniti I35

I have had this car since new (almost three years ) and it is far and away the best car I have ever owned , and I have been owning and driving cars since the mid 1960s.I still feel the same getting behind the wheel in the morning as I did when the vehicle was new. Fast, smooth, anvil tough and reliable in the most severe conditions, it is everything I want in an automobile.

  • Cant beat the value for the price - 2011 Infiniti G Sedan
    By -

Just bought this car after test driving the all the competitors in the this segment. I do admit at first i did not think that Infiniti had the cache to compete with BMW, Mercedes, Audi, but after after driving all the aforementioned cars in this class, I kept coming back to the G 37. The power, sportiness, and the ergonomics could not beat for the price. I also test drove the Acura TL and the Lexis IS 350 and still the G 37 stood tall. I am very happy with my purchase. No buyers remorse here. It is a great car with excellent build quality. I know I only had it got 400 miles but I grow more fond of this car with each passing mile that I drive.

  • Excellent Car - 2005 Infiniti G35

I have ownwed Lexus, Porshe, Mercedes, and now Infiniti. I love everything about this car. Its not as quiet as the Lexus, but no car is. Lexus is still my very favorite. But the G35 tops the Mercedes and Porshe by far. We had nothing but problems with Mercedes and Porsche, would never buy another one. I have had my G35 AWD for just about a year. Its roomy yet sporty. A good inbetween for a sports car and sedan mix. The back seat is very comfortable too. Lexus or Infiniti are the way to go.

  • A mans car with a womans touch - 2003 Infiniti M45

This car is fun. It leaps out from the corner with a muted snarl that is more felt than heard. Acceleration is breathtaking for a car this size. Handling is smooth and responive with steering just a touch tight at low speed. The transmssion is smooth and quiet though the alternate auto-stick mechanism seems clumsy. All in all this is a great car delivering major driving pleasure and value with relatively few flaws.
