Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Much Improved - 2007 Infiniti G35
By Jim - July 10 - 7:46 amTraded my 03 G35 for the redesigned 07. What an improvement!! While the car was great to begin with Infiniti tweaked the exterior a bit while really addressing some shortcomings with the interior. Im finding myself looking for excuses to drive.

Speedy - 2005 Infiniti G35
By My Fist Sports Car - July 9 - 4:03 amI got this car and it was so fun to drive that i could not get out of it. People kept saying that the car smelled good after 4 months. Love the AWD cuz it gets you out of everythings no matter how high the snow is. Exhaust note is very nice but not too annoying. Been back at dealer twice for noises but not fixed due to window bolts not tight and brake tune up.

Wow. Simply awesome! - 2011 Infiniti QX56
By Mythreeboys - July 5 - 2:40 amTraded my Mercedes GL for this truck. I am SO pleased..The ride quality and interior is far superior. I dont have the extra hydraulic package, but it still rides phenomenal over bumps. Cant imagine what the extra feature would do. All I can say is WOW! LOVE it, and this was a really good choice.

great car - 2005 Infiniti G35
By bogin - July 4 - 10:33 pmLeased the car up in early March, just turned 3k miles on it. Have had no problems. Its wicked fast and corners like it was on rails. Gets 19-20 MPG around town, managed 28 on a recent road trip cruising at 70-75 on the interstate. Stated out looking at the G35X but after driving the coupe my wife wanted no part of having a sedan. The back seat is very comfortable but a litte short on head room. It is usable for two adults for hour long trips. Kids (read grandkids) fit very well for longer road trips. It turns heads wherever we go. The VSC works well to keep the back end in place and when turned off allows you to steer with the your right foot. Great car!

Infiniti I35... what a good car to have. - 2002 Infiniti I35
By ferdi1 - July 4 - 4:30 pmHi everyone, I have been driving my Infiniti I35 for 6 months now. Today I decided that I have good enough knowledge about the car. So now I can write a good review supported with real facts. 1. Handling - The car handles very well and it is also very secure. In high speeds feels very stable and the stability control system works very good. 2. Power (255hp) - When I press the gas pedal the car accelerates very quickly. The engine is one of the 10 best engines ever made. It also goes to NISSAN 350Z, no need for more comments. 3. Interior quality and design - The seats are not the best Ive seen but they are good enough. The interior is very nice and the sound is great.

Great Car! - could be better - 2003 Infiniti M45
By No More Fords - July 4 - 10:00 amThe M45 allows you to move through traffic effortlessly. it ahs the power enter the hihgway at speed so that you dont impede traffic. Yet, there is little noise - so you will have to let down the windows to hear the throaty- exhaust. (smile) The sideview-mirror blinkers leave no guessing to those on your right or left as you manuveur your may through traffic in Washington rush-hour. Comes with a tape-deck however the Six Disc changer is somewhat inconvenient. Infiniti should have looked at Lexus or other manufactures for latest in- dash CD changers.

Bad Ass M45 - 2003 Infiniti M45
By Ryan Waters - July 4 - 10:00 amI have wanted this car since I saw the Gloria/Cedric models on the Nissan website in Japan. When I heard they were bringing it here and putting a V8 in the car I knew it was the care for me. The American auto reviewers have blasted this cars looks for some reason, but I have had more positive comments on its beauty and style than I can count over the last 2 months. It just goes to show you never take a reviewer at his word, investigate for yourself. my car is Diamond Grafite with crome wheels, tinted windows and every goodie available, I love it and will buy another when my lease is up!

My M45..these cars rule!! - 2003 Infiniti M45
By ptm03m45 - July 4 - 10:00 amJust got my M45 about a month ago and Im very happy with it. I just smoke every car I go against and I love the power. I have a Black loaded w/chome wheels (real pimp) and enjoy getting behind the wheel and driving everyday. Faster than any car I ever had and handles decent for a big car.
