Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • good, but my M45 is better - 2006 Infiniti QX56

Outperforms any comparable SUV by a county mile, extremely comfortable on long trips, 19mpg is a complete fiction, more like 13. Looks improve dramatically with custom wheels (mine are 22"). Hard to adjust a/c comfortably, though its powerful, same with stereo system. DVD system is complicated. Have had problems with shuddering during braking, but Infiniti service is first class - they try very hard to please

  • 2 Leased QX50s For Less Than Price of 1 BMW X3 - 2016 Infiniti QX50

The driving experience reminds me of our old 2002 BMW 330. Very comfortable car. Leased 2 of them. Deal was so good that the 2 cost me $100 less a month than my 2014 X3 which I purchased/financed in 2014 and quickly sold the day before picking up the Infinitis.

Very very fun to drive. I have had the car for 2 years now and I still get compliments from strangers. Handles great in the mountains of North carolina.

  • An awesome value - 2004 Infiniti G35

This car is a great deal. It has plenty of power and performance to keep up or beat just about any stock vehicle you would come across on the street. It also turns heads.

My experience with this car has been awesome. It has acceleration that I have never experienced before. Its handling is fantastic. The ride is acceptable but not as soft as I am used to. Gas consumption to date is around 22 mpg.

Owned BMWs for 20 years;5 and 3 series. The G35 beats them all the way! Engine is quick and responsive. Got the Nav and has great features. Put in a phone # for a hotel and the directions were there! Had a problem with the keyless system. Stop working when sat in the sun and got over 90 degrees, then would work when it cooled down? Dealer couldnt duplicate at first, finally they were able and replaced the receiver unit. Now waiting for a hot spell to see if it is fixed? The Bose stereo has brought me back to music. Unbelievable. BUY AT COSTA MESA INFINITI!! They are the best, ask for Patrick.

  • Love our G35 - 2004 Infiniti G35

We bought our G35 brand new and now have 106,000 miles on it. We have basically changed the oil every 3000 miles, performed regular maintenance, and had the brakes worked on every year. That was the only disappointment. The steering is starting to make some noise now -- will have it checked out, but the car has been trouble free. Thinking about buying another one!

  • No Title - 2005 Infiniti Q45

This vehicle is prety much everything I expected. The back-up TV could be brighter and I would like a brightness control on the navagation map. I would also like the option to NOT go to the nighttime map display when the lights come on. Standard daytime running lights would be nice too. NISSAN needs to dump those d--n low profile tires. While they improve handeling: they are ugly, transmit road noise, and ride rough as h-ll!! Thats prettty much it for me.
