Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Sportiest in this class - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Ive put about 5000 miles on this car. I test drove its competitors prior to my purchase, and Ive subsequently accompanied a couple of friends on a series of test drives of this & similar cars... bottom line, no other car in this class can touch the G35s performance & poise. At the same time, its competitors (possibly excepting the Cadillac CTS) all out-class it in terms of interior quality, styling & ergonomics.

  • The New G35 - 2004 Infiniti G35

AMAZING car..great engine, breaks are a little sticky off the bat but they smooth out. Engine is sick. It makes sense for its price. Only problem with the car is there is virtually no interior storage space, especially with the DVD navigation system which they stick in the glove box

  • G36 Coupe Rocks - 2004 Infiniti G35

Tried several vehicles in similar price range and nothing was even close including 330i. Got mine a week ago with everything but NAV. Explosive acceleration from any speed. Absolute blast to drive. New Twilight Blue color looks outstanding. Afraid to get rearended now due to too much attention from other drivers.

  • G35 Coup is a Knock Out - 2003 Infiniti G35

This is by far the best value in a sports coup to date. Acceleration is outstanding, quality is excellent, and they have put fun back into driving...

Ive just traded in my VW passat 1999 for an upgrade to this 2006 Infiniti G35. And boy is it an upgrade, it drives better than any BMW or Lexus out there. Its a pleasure to run errands now. The horsepower is great also. It has an awesome vroom to it! Im hooked on buying Infinitis now because they make a great car; great job on an awesome car!

  • Love it - 2006 Infiniti M45

I originally was going to buy the GS 350, but after driving it several times, I felt cramped and I couldn’t even sit in the back seat with out slouching over. Once I drove the M45, it has plenty of room and power (more than the GS430) and costs less. Its a very civilized hot rod! Love it!

  • Exellent chasis, confused powertrain - 2011 Infiniti G Sedan
    By -

I have the regualr, non-sport G37 with stick 17 wheels, and the car is still very sporty, very neutral. At the same time the ride is well composed and smooth. Interior quality is good but not great. Its about on par with my VW GTI in terms material quality for the dash and all the nobs. The fake wood ook good but Ive seen better. Leather is fine, but again not the best. Layout is very logical though. Interior room is also fine, but a little less that I expected for a vehicle this size. Considering the my other car, a VW GTI, which is some 20 in shorter has nearly as much front and backseat room... I will describe the power-train in suggested improvements page.

  • Great car - a few minor glitches - 2000 Infiniti I30
    By -

Bought this car 1 year old with 29k miles. Exceptional car overall. Ride and handling are great. Comfort is superb. Gets about 27 mpg. A couple of small problems. Had two incidents where the check engine light came on - both burned out oxygen (O-2) sensors, both replaced under warranty. At 74k miles the motor or switch on the rear sun shade has just gone out - no manual override. Also, I am not a fan of the VR tires. While they may increase handling capability, they are noisy, rough, and have a relatively short tread life. Overall the car is great and the problems to this point have been minor.

  • Love my G35 - 2005 Infiniti G35

My G35 is an awesome car. I compared the Acura TL, BMW 3, and the Lexus 330. THe G rocks. It is fast, and fun to drive. I highly recommend it.

  • Economy, comfortable, Fun & Value! - 2002 Infiniti G20
    By -

I Love this car! I purchased a New G20 in April of 2000 and got a Great Deal, It was $1500.00 under dealer invoice and was the first Infinti that I have ever owned. I loved it so much that I just purchased a 2002 model. I have 36000 mi. on my 2000 and have done nothing but oil changes. The car has never been back to the dealership! This time I opted for the G20 Sport Edition! With the Carbon Fiber Dash! This car is a real head turner and was $4000.00 off the sticker price.
