Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

Great style, fantistic performance, bulletproof reliability. It doesnt get any better than this. Yes it does, it is $7000 cheaper than a BMW!

If you are not a 6 foot plus giant male this is the safest, most fun to drive reliable car to drive...Period i have owned only mercedes, lexus sedans and (1) bmw plus (1) volvo suv in the past thirty years of driving---city and highways trips daily. This is euphoria on chrome wheels and reliable under all road conditions and climates. And the value is the final clincher for anyone who has tried the ride on a g35x infiniti. Service quality ? Impeccable, but frankly rarely required for my car. Jay lamont

  • M45 - 2003 Infiniti M45

One of the best cars Ive ever driven next to the Mercedes cars. The car is a head turner to most, but is subject to criticism by a few due to the styling, but that makes it all the better. This car doesnt follow the same lines or mold as the other cars. Infiniti stepped outside the box on this 03-04 M45 setup and Im glad they did. The car is strong and handles well in the straight away. I havent had any issues since I bought it in 2005. No gas gauge or oil issues.

  • Been a month... so far so good - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

So far so good... Ive just passed the break-in period, but this damn rain has kept me from seeing what this car can really do. Acceleration is almost too smooth for me... I prefer to have my head snapped back as opposed to stealth speed. Cockpit controls are poorly designed--after a month, I still fumble with the stereo. And what is it with the dashboard glare? Minor quibbles, as this car is fast, fun, and uniquely stylish.

This car is really fun to drive; terrific acceleration on the freeway. As a former Lexus owner, the road feel of the M45 is a welcome change from riding in a cocoon. The dash console is attractive but a little confusing. Sirius satellite radio is a big plus.

  • Unpredictable - 2014 Infiniti Q50
    By -

I traded in my 2013 Accord 4 cyl with the q50 hybrid. I regret for my decision. The acceleration is uneven especially at lower speed and in the city. The transition from hybrid to gasoline is abrupt and feel embarrassed because even the passengers can feel it and questioned if theres anything wrong with the car. The acceleration is unpredictable at lower speed and there were many times, I felt the car lunge forward when I only step on the pedal just a little and other times, I had to step on it hard before it will take off. After driving for 5000 miles, I felt the car a lot heavier than the accord and the handling is not that much better which I expected more from a RWD.

  • Technology, Speed, Handling & Value!!! - 2008 Infiniti G35

Premium, nav. I test drove both this car and the FX. Wasnt thrilled at the idea of 15mpg or the bigger price tag. This car accelerates wonderfully and Im not worried about sway as I was with my SUV.

  • I love this car - 2003 Infiniti G35
    By -

Ive had the car 2 years (bought new) and every day when I get behind the wheel I think "I love this car." Incredible power, that just gets stronger the faster you go. Very quiet, even with the roof open. No significant problems. Brakes wear quickly but warrenty covered them at 25K and they stop the car fast. No lift so even at speed it holds the road like it was on rails. Very comfortable ride.

  • What a Fantastic Car - 2003 Infiniti G35

The car is fantastic to drive and is possibly the deal out there for a sports/luxury car. Every time I see it parked in the driveway, I cant wait to go out and drive it. The steering and handling are very tight. The 6MT model is truly the way to go with this car. This is a really fun car to own.
