Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  What can you say? Its the best under $35K sport sedan on the market. Drive them all like I did and make your decision. AcuraTL, AcuraTSX, BMW 3-series, Audi A4. None of these cars offer the combination of performance, value, comfort, and handling that the G35 does. This car will beat all of the above mentioned competitors in 0-60, slalom, 60-0 braking, and the unmeasurable "fun to drive" element. I cant say enough good things about this car. Im in medical sales and put 20-25K miles/year on my car, and this baby makes me excited to hit the road. Just a fantastic all-around performer.

  Nice SUV - 2009 Infiniti QX56

  Weve only had the QX56 for a week but so far we really enjoy it. Gas mileage is about 13.8mpg with hwy/city combined. Kids love the dvd player in the back, ride is soft but responsive, engine has lots of power.

  This is simply the best car I have ever owned, sporty tuned ride with luxury interior, beautiful leather! My z4 was too stiff!! The G37 was not only the best value but the best car under 35k period! The A4 is under powered as is the 328i which comes with fake leather in the base... Its only comp is the 335i and the A5 but they cost so much more! and the 335i just isnt that comfortable to drive!

  This SUV has all the bells and whistle that you would want and need. Drives and handles very well. Ive owed several SUVs, hands down its the best so far. Love all the new upgrades in the 08.

  A beautifully designed car...a real head turner. Fun to drive. Solid build - no rattles after 5 months. Power to spare on the highway. This car goes where you point it on S curves.

  Great car for the money - 2002 Infiniti Q45

  Considered Lexus GS and BMW 530i but for few dollars more got awesome V8 power, an audio system that cant be beat (unless you want to pay $5K for a Levinson radio), and a vehicle that gets admiring stares . You wont feel connected to the road as with BMW, but way better than Lexus in that regard. The steering is tight and perfectly weighted and the brakes are great -- also unlike Lexus. This car is fast.

  Solid Car - 2003 Infiniti Q45

  My Q-45 is one solid, reliable car. In 16000 mostly city miles I have averaged 17.8MPG. Those miles I have driven with outstanding performance and fantastic comfort. This is my 3rd Infinity Q-45 and the number of repairs required for them is ZERO. In comparison, my friends S class has had numerous electrical problems, my familys Lexus several small problems and my BMW Z-3 a disaster. The car does not have the dingleberries of more expensive cars but, as a car, is superior IMHO

  Parker G35X Review - 2005 Infiniti G35

  We purchased our G35X in February with some snow still on the ground. This vehicle looks great and as a full time rear wheel drive and as-needed all- wheel drive it is sure footed and gives one a secure feeling driving it. With over 5,000 miles on it now, there is nothing to find fault with. We normally get around 24 MPG on trips and around 20 MPG driving around home. A great looking sedan with a sport car feel when you hit the accelerator.

  From Porsche 944S to G35 Coupe 6MT - 2005 Infiniti G35

  I have owned a Porsche 944S for 22 years. As the maintenance bills began to climb it was time to buy a new vehicle. After reading many reviews the G35 6MT seemed to be my next car. This was sealed after I test drove the vehicle. The power delivery is absolutely flat in terms of torque curve and the handling is on par with my beloved Porsche. The steering is just a tad too power assisted, but beyond that, this car is just as much fun to drive. The convenience features are well thought out and executed. The service at the dealership continues my pleasant Infiniti experience. I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a sporty driving experience.
