Overview & Reviews
Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.
The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.
As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.
Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.
Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

G35 6MT Coupe (Dragon Slayer) - 2004 Infiniti G35
By Robert Hodges - September 16 - 2:00 amThe damn thing is fast! The best body design of any car Ive ever owned or driven. People owning cars costing twice as much complement on a daily basis. Power to spare and very tight handling. Very stable at speed (60-80 mph) and up. Excellent in the rain you feel control. Gas mileage is a function of keeping your oil clean. Heat and A/C are excellent. Ive only had my G for a year, so reliability and build quality can not be adequately judged yet. Drivers of the hottest cars want no part of a "G". This is money well spent.

Like driving a very thirsty cloud - 2016 Infiniti QX80
By Michael Smith - September 15 - 10:18 pmSo I am leasing a current 2016 QX80 Signature Edition. It has all the bells and whistles you want and none of the BS. Gas mileage is in a word, horrible, but if you are paying a grand a month for your car $60-80 a month in gas is probably not a worry. Safety and tech are top notch, accelerates nicely and is a pleasure to drive. Plus I am saving 200/month vs a MB that is similarly equipped. I looked around, Hard, this was far and away the best bang for the buck. Cadillac felt cheap inside(PLASTIC AS FAR AS THE EYE CAR SEE) the same car from MB is way overpriced, and doesnt exist for Audi, BMW, Porsche or Lexus. I even tried the Lexus 540 which felt tiny in comparison and everything else was soo much smaller or no where near as nice (Yukon, Tahoe, Expedition). This is also far more comfortable than any previous vehicle I have owned (MB E350 Wagon, RR HSE, Yukon Denali and Dodge Durango) and is probably only beaten in value of all cars I have owned by my Porsche (550 Spyder).

Pulling Gs - 2004 Infiniti G35
By G-ood Times - September 15 - 8:33 amOverall I have been very pleased with my G. The only complaints are the noisy and rough ride. However, when you want to have fun - this is THE car!

Overall beats a BMW! - 2008 Infiniti G35
By below me - September 15 - 2:10 amMuch better car than a BMW. Responds well, awesome features and is one fun ride. I have a 2008 G35x with nav and premium package and love her. I am 62 and have plenty of leg room. The rear seat on the second hand is small.

Regret Buying QX56 Every Day! - 2007 Infiniti QX56
By Maxjack - September 14 - 11:00 amWorst mistake Ive ever made. Ive had problems with this vehicle the first 3 hrs I had it. Once vehicle was bought, Infiniti customer service vanished. Car was brand new and had many scratches and flaws. DVD player broke, differentials went bad within 4 months, rust on vehicle, key fobs work some days and some days not. This car has paint chips everywhere! A bug hits the car and the paint chips! This car has new squeaks and rattles every day. Interior is very plasticy and is put together poorly. None of the plastic lines up. Leather is falling off of door. Infinity just keeps gluing it and wont fix it. I could not be any more disappointed in a company.

Great Coupe! - 2009 Infiniti G37
By carlineneg - September 12 - 6:04 pmFor the money, and then some, the G37 was a hot coupe. It is now a little long in the tooth, but when it came out, and maybe even now, I am not sure what you can get for $40-45k that looks and performs as well in the segment.
