Make Overview:

Infiniti is an upscale automaker from Japan. Though most of its products are related to those sold by parent company Nissan, Infiniti looks to achieve a premium status by infusing its cars and SUVs with spirited performance and additional luxury content.

The brand was launched for the 1990 model year. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create premium vehicles for America that wouldn't have otherwise fit in with Nissan's more mainstream image. This was the same tactic Honda used for the creation of Acura, and Toyota for Lexus. In its first full year, Infiniti started out with two vehicles, the Q45 sedan and the M30 coupe and convertible. The compact, entry-level G20 was introduced soon after.

As the 1990s moved along, Infiniti slowly added more vehicles to its lineup. The Q45 luxury sport sedan found its market. The car's 278-horsepower V8 was class-leading in its day. On top of that, the Q45 offered cutting-edge technology such as an active suspension system. By the late '90s Infiniti had rolled out the QX4, an SUV based on the Pathfinder. The sport-ute's truck platform gave it a leg up in off-road performance relative to competing car-based SUVs.

Although Infiniti's sales grew steadily, the marque still fell short of both Lexus and Acura in terms of popularity. The early 2000s saw Infiniti making a determined effort to sharpen its focus and upgrade its products. But it was the introduction of the entry-level, midsize G35 in 2003 that finally gave Infiniti the boost and identity direction it sorely needed. Based on the same platform underpinning the Nissan 350Z, the G35 coupe and sedan met with immediate sales success. The FX35/FX45 soon followed -- a crossover SUV that provided spirited acceleration and sports-car handling with the utility of a wagon.

Today, Infiniti's lineup has expanded to include the G (now a sedan, coupe and convertible) and FX as well as the midsize M sedan, the EX small crossover SUV, the JX midsize crossover SUV and the QX large SUV. Infiniti has also introduced the M Hybrid sedan, its first hybrid vehicle. No matter the model, shoppers will find Infiniti's latest vehicles to be focused on luxury, sport, quality and value.

  • Best Car For The $$$ - 2004 Infiniti G35

Just an outstanding combination of features, performance, quality and price. I paid $26,100 for mine and what else even comes close for anything less than $32,000? I probably should have waited for the Coupe, but I love my sedan.

  • No buyers remorse... - 2004 Infiniti G35

I went into the dealership because I was bored and drove off in a new car. It didnt really have much to do with the dealership, more because I finally drove it. Ive had the G35 now for almost 3 months and still turn around for one last look every time I park it. The G35 is fast, quick, and agile. The quickness may not be "right off the line" but as soon as you hit 3,000 RPMs +, hang on. The fuel economy is good as long as you keep it an Automatic mode. As soon as you switch it over to Triptronic, its less efficient...but thats driver dependent. I love this thing!!

  • Unreliable - 2002 Infiniti I35

Thought it would be a reliable car but has been problems since I bought it. Only 34k and it smokes like crazy (dealer says this is normal) and has had transmission problems.

Best sedan to drive I know of - great handling, blazing acceleration and tremendous braking. Many compliments received. I purchased the first one in Plano, Texas and probably North Texas.

  • Best Car in Class - 2007 Infiniti M45

I bought the M45 sport 2 months ago and cant be happier with the choice I made. This car handles and drives better than the competing 5 series models I drove and leaves most luxury sedans in the dust. It wasnt the value that drove me to buy this car (it is way cheaper than the beamer) but the overall package. Even the much more expensive BMW 550 doesnt deliver the luxury this car delivers, and I prefer the interior of this car. The back seat passengers have more leg-room and can actually adjust their seats. This is the first time my two kids have stopped fighting over the front seat. The younger one actually prefers the back. Overall, couldt be happier. Love, love the car.

  • Top of the line luxury SUV - 2004 Infiniti QX56

This car is pretty amazing, nice interior, navigation, rearview camara, parking sensors, dvd entertainment system. The second row of seats actually heat up. I like that the passenger seats incline all the way compared to my last car( fx 35) I decided to change becuase Im used to big cars. The only thing that I dont like is the fuel consumption. 80 dollars to fill tank up. Other than that I love it.

  • Dependable - 2000 Infiniti I30
    By -

The Infiniti I30t is a very dependable car and very fun to drive. I am the second owner of the vehicle. When I bought it the car had 56,000 mi and now has 150,000 mi. Because it is a touring edition to do ride comfort and turning radius because of the stiff suspension. The car is very safe. I t-boned someone and the car crushed in all of the right places. Thank God it wasnt totalled. I am still driving and I drive it like I hate it. I plan to get over 300,000 mi. out of this car.

  • My Infiniti G35 coupe - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

Okay, so this car is amazing. First of all, I bought this for a good price. Its an 05 Infiniti G35 coupe. Its got dual exhaust which brings the horse power to 285. Great on highways, very loud. Leather interior touch screen GPS built in. I have a 70.000 mile warranty on her :) Brakes are great. This car has so much power I cant even go an hour without driving her. I got a Blue one with a cream strip. The engine is perfect and the alarm on it is great. If someone even gets close to my car my remote will tell me to go out and check it, so high tech! I highly recommend this car, classy sexy and with the perks of a nice fast sports car. You wont regret it!

  • This car is a rocket - 2007 Infiniti G35

I have been a fan of of the VQ engine for a long time. It is scary how fast it is. My 97 Maxima turned out to be exceptionally reliable.

  • G35X fun! Fun! Fun!! - 2005 Infiniti G35
    By -

My G35X is a sleek powerful driving machine. This is the first performance vehicle I have ever owned and I LOVE it. The look, style & appearence deceives the unaware of the power and handling in the X model. The keyless entry & ignition to the wrap-around console & driver seat make the driver feel confortable & in control. The throaty sound at start to the powerful accelaration makes driving this car FUN! There is plenty of head & leg room, reclining seats in the back & I upgraded to the Bose sound system. The rosewood console & leather bucket seats give the interior a finished look. The brakes are touchy until you adjust to them & the materials on the dash arent of the highest quality
